  • That which is born of the Spirit is spirit

    11/04/2021 Duração: 01h09min

John Farley Pastor Teacher Sunday, April 11, 2021 That which is born of the Spirit is spirit Joh 2:23-3:10 Jesus performed signs to help people believe in Him. But not as a miracle worker. As the Christ, the Son of God. Nicodemus was a Pharisee, and he was a ruler of the Jews. Nicodemus was also the teacher of the Jews (verse 10). They believed Jesus was a great teacher. They believed that God was with Him. But they don't believe that He is the Son of God, or the Jewish Messiah, or the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Jesus knew that Nicodemus was blinded by his religion and his pride. Nicodemus was blindsided by the reply Jesus gave. The Pharisees were teaching the people that they could enter the kingdom if they kept the Law. Mat 5:20 A man must be born anew, from... for full notes: http://www.lbible.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=1417

Mat 13:55-56 Joh 2:13-14 Passover was one of three Jewish feasts that required the men to travel to Jerusalem. Act 2:9-11 There was a temple tax that was due in Jerusalem every year. • There was a wedding in Cana

    21/03/2021 Duração: 01h09min

John Farley Pastor Teacher Sunday, March 21, 2021 There was a wedding in Cana John 2:1-11 Jesus is going to perform His first miraculous sign at this wedding feast. Remember, a sign is more than a miracle. It is a miracle with a meaning. SIGN = Miracle + Meaning In the Jewish culture of that time, this would be a huge breach of hospitality. The old wine had run its course. It proved to be insufficient. The gist of it is, "you and I are not on the same page with this." But she has no concept of the ramifications of what she is asking. He will do it at the precise moment that His Father tells him to do it. His hour - the phrase tracks the forward progress toward His glorification, which would culminate in His death, resurrection, and... for full notes: http://www.lbible.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=1411

  • What do you seek?

    14/03/2021 Duração: 01h08min

John Farley Pastor Teacher Sunday, March 14, 2021 What do you seek? Joh 1:35-51 By the end of the second day, Jesus will be heading to Galilee with five disciples. They simply believed what their teacher John said about Jesus. The answer they gave might seem unusual, or even evasive, to us. If they knew where He was staying, they would know where He would be teaching His disciples. What do YOU seek? Jesus answered their question with an invitation. They stayed with Him that day. The gospel does not record what happened. Andrew brought his brother to Jesus. Christians have been doing that ever since. The Lord was not describing who Simon was that day. He was making a promise to make him that in the future. The Lord said to Philip, "follow Me". He invited Philip to become His... for full notes: http://www.lbible.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=1409

John Farley Pastor Teacher Sunday, February 28, 2021 A voice crying in the wilderness Joh 1:19-28 The story begins with the public ministry of John the Baptist. Mar 1:4-6 He baptized them in water for the forgiveness of sins. Who is he? Mat 3:1-2 All four gospels record the baptism John preached. Joh 1:19-20 The leaders of the Jews sent a delegation to investigate this John. He spoke with authority; he baptized for the forgiveness of sins. Luk 3:15-16 In the first century AD, many Jewish people longed for the promised Messiah. And there was a rumor making the rounds that John was this... for full notes: http://www.lbible.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=1405

    21/02/2021 Duração: 01h10min

John Farley Pastor Teacher Sunday, February 21, 2021 The Word became flesh Who is Jesus? Joh 1:9-18 Verses 10-18 form the second stanza of this glorious hymn to the Word. Verses 1-9 are provocative. They spawn a series of questions. What does it mean that the darkness did not grasp the Light (verse 5)? What happened when the Light came into the world (verse 9)? How did the Light, the Word, come into the world? How did the world react to the arrival of its Creator (verse 3)? What is the nature of the life in verse 4? Who receives this life? How? What was John's testimony about the Light (verse 7)? The Light enlightens every man (verse 9). About what? When He came into the world, what did the Word reveal about God? Joh 1:10-11 The darkness represents the world: the human race in rebellion... for full notes: http://www.lbible.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=1403

The Christ 4. The Son of God 5. Life Joh 1:1-18 Gen 1:1 The "beginning" of Genesis 1:1 is the beginning of the creation. Joh 17:5 The "beginning" in John 1:1 is infinitely earlier than the creation of the heavens and the earth. The best word to describe it is "eternal". And in that same eternity past, the Word existed also. The LORD revealed Himself in the Old Testament as the only God. There is only one God. John Farley Pastor Teacher Sunday, January 31, 2021 Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God Joh 20:30-31 What is the gospel of John about? 1. Signs 2. Believe 3. The Christ 4. The Son of God 5. Life So that YOU may believe. And that by believing YOU may have life. What does John mean by a sign? A sign is a miracle that points to something even greater. These signs revealed the hand of God in the miracles that Jesus performed. Joh 20:30-31 This in turn revealed that Jesus is actually the Son of God. He is God. These signs were performed so that people may believe. Believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Joh 5:15-18 Joh 2:11 To believe is to be convinced about the truth of something or someone. pisteu/w. to have faith (in... for full notes: http://www.lbible.org/index.php?proc=msg&sf=vw&tid=1397
