Castles Part 2 - What Does the Bible Say about Marriage?
27/08/2023 Duração: 48minIn Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus teaches us what the Bible says about marriage. He reminds us that the foundation for your house – your marriage – must be the Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ! WHAT A CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE SHOULD LOOK LIKE We live in a time of self-idolatry and anarchy. Homes around us are suffering because couples aren’t willing to die to their flesh and serve their spouses. When you say, “I do,” at the altar, you say, “I die,” too. A Christian marriage should be filled with… The fear of the Lord – submitting to God’s authority brings peace instead of anarchy. Obedience to God’s Word – we can’t live abundantly apart from living obediently. When your house becomes God’s house, your home can survive a firestorm of destruction. THE BIBLICAL FRAMEWORK OF MARRIAGE Marriage is about a commission (Genesis 2:18). Adam did not need someone to complete him but rather someone to help in his God-given commission. Marriage is about a crucifixion (Genesis 2:19-22). Adam “died” giving life to his bri

Castles Part 1-Let Jesus Be the Foundation of Your House
20/08/2023 Duração: 48minYou might build a house, but only the Lord can build your home. If your house is not built on the firm foundation of God’s Word, it will not be able to withstand the storms of life. YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT LOCATION AND THE RIGHT FOUNDATION! The difference between homes that last and homes that don’t are where they’re built and how they’re built! You must make the Son of God the location and the Word of God your foundation. HOW YOU LET THE LORD BUILD YOUR HOUSE: • Let the Word of God be your foundation, and Jesus be your location. • Submit to God’s authority. • Commit your life to the Son of God and choose to obey the Word of God Jesus is the ultimate builder of any home, and He alone must determine its placement and position. Apart from submitting to God’s authority, our families will be in anarchy. You cannot be blessed by God apart from living obediently to God. A Study of Thessalonians (Part 12) | What Does God Say About Hard Work?
13/08/2023 Duração: 46minIn 2 Thessalonians 3, Paul teaches us how what God says about hard work, how we should work, and the mentality we are to have about work. WHY GOD CALLS US TO WORK • God calls us to work because it reflects our dependence on Him, using His strength and resting in His grace and love as we further His Kingdom. • God calls us to work so we aren’t a burden to others but also to help and provide for those who can’t work. The Bible tells us that we are God’s workmanship and created in Jesus to do good works, which He prepared in advance for us. So then, when we work and engage with those around us to glorify God, we are fulfilling what God designed us to do. 2 THESSALONIANS 3:9-14 TELLS US HOW TO WORK AND WHAT IT DOES • “... not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us. For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working a

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 10) | Prophetic Events Related to the Day of the Lord
30/07/2023 Duração: 42minPaul writes to the Thessalonian church about the prophetic events related to the Day of the Lord. He warns them about the great deception, the same deception Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24:24, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” THE PROPHETIC EVENTS RELATED TO THE DAY OF THE LORD… 1. The great apostasy of the modern Church The great “falling away” prophesied by the Apostle Paul is a “super sign” that the rapture of the Church is near. While there have always been “Christians” and “churches” that have “fallen away,” it has never been as widespread and “en masse” as now. God describes the end-times “Church” as a “harlot” because she has prostituted the truth with lies! Revelation 17:5, “And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” 2. The rapture of the true Church Paul is very clear that the Holy Spirit is currently restraining Satan and

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 9) | Why God Counted the Thessalonians Worthy
23/07/2023 Duração: 49minGod counted the Thessalonians worthy because their faith was costly. A faith that costs nothing, demands nothing, and does nothing, is worth nothing. TRUE SAVING FAITH… Cannot be ruined in the fire of life’s trials Can only be refined SATAN TEMPTS. GOD TESTS. What Satan hopes will ruin your faith, God is using to refine your faith. WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER IN THIS SERMON… The “fire” of today cannot compare to the FIRE Jesus will bring someday! It will not be a refiner’s fire. It will be judgment fire. When you reject God’s grace, all that is left is God’s wrath. The way you walk through the door of eternal life is by letting Jesus walk through the door of your life. To God, there is only one thing that makes you worthy of eternal life—the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Phil Hopper gives you a message of encouragement and inspiration about what true faith looks like. A Study of Thessalonians (Part 8) | How the Thessalonian Church Lived for Jesus
16/07/2023 Duração: 42minThe Thessalonian church lived for Jesus. How? They had irresistible leadership and irresistible devotion. WHAT DID THEIR LEADERSHIP LOOK LIKE? 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15… “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.” They… Warned those who were not walking in alignment with the Spirit Comforted those who were weak and fainthearted Were patient Pursued what was good WHAT DID THEIR DEVOTION LOOK LIKE? 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22… “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” They… Rejoiced in all things Prayed in all things Gave thanks in all things The Thessalonian church knew Jesus and the will of God. They did not quench the Sp

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 7) | Being Ready for Christ’s Return & the Day of the Lord
09/07/2023 Duração: 45minAre you ready for Christ’s return? The Thessalonians were known for their “irresistible readiness” as they anticipated the Day of the Lord. The “Day of the Lord” is a term that refers to all of the events related to Christ’s second coming. The “Day of the Lord” begins when Jesus returns for His bride – the Church! (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). As the bride of Christ, we should be ready for the return of Christ! HOW TO BE RADIANT AND READY FOR CHRIST’S RETURN Live in the light of God’s Word instead of the darkness of our world. WE ARE TO BE READY… SPIRITUALLY—Ephesians 5:14-18 says, “Therefore He says: ‘Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’” PRACTICALLY—Proverbs 20:4 says, “The lazy man will not plow because of winter; he will beg during harvest and have nothing.” IN COMMUNITY—Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one an

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 5) | What Does the Bible Say About Sexual Immorality?
25/06/2023 Duração: 50minThe Thessalonians were known for their “irresistible holiness.” First Thessalonians 4:7 says, “For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.” To be holy means to be set apart, separated for a purpose. God calls us to be separated from sexual immorality to pursue lives that are holy. HOLINESS “…but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’”—1 Peter 1:15-16 HOW DOES GOD’S WORD DEFINE SEXUAL IMMORALITY? Sexual immorality is defined as any sexual activity outside of marriage between a man and a woman. “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”—Hebrews 13:4 “And He answered and said to them, ‘Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning “made them male and female.”’”—Matthew 19:4 God does not consider something morally acceptable just because it feels natural to you. Sin comes naturally to us all! (See Romans 3:23) Discover how Jesus came not to affirm our

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 4) | Effective Kingdom Leaders Do These 4 Things
11/06/2023 Duração: 44minThe Thessalonians were a church of “irresistible influence” because they were a church of “irresistible leadership.” A Kingdom leader’s mission is to make disciples who make disciples, which means everyone is called to be someone’s leader. THE MARKS OF AN EFFECTIVE KINGDOM LEADER… 1 Thessalonians 3:1-2 says… “Therefore, when we could no longer endure it, we thought it good to be left in Athens alone, and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith…” KINGDOM LEADERS EMPOWER OTHERS! The Apostle Paul EMPOWERED TIMOTHY, a younger man who would lead the second generation in the early Church. Paul knew that a MULTIPLYING MOVEMENT demands multiplying leaders. There is no movement apart from multiplication. Paul DEVELOPED and DEPLOYED deployed Timothy to minister through him, not merely to him. Paul had discipled Timothy, who was now being sent to disciple the Thessalonians. KINGDOM LEADERS LOVE OTHERS! You

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 3) | How God’s Word Changes You
04/06/2023 Duração: 36minThe Thessalonians were a church of irresistible influence because they were a church of irresistible life change. Their changed lives were unexplainable yet undeniable! Discover how God’s Word changed them and can change you! HOW GOD’S WORD WORKS IN YOU TO CHANGE YOU… IT MUST BE RECEIVED. A changed life begins with a new birth by the “seed” of God’s Word. Spiritually you are born by the “seed” of God’s Word, and you grow by the “milk” milk of God’s Word. IT MUST BE BELIEVED. You don’t change by getting into God’s Word. You change when God’s Word gets into you. When you believe and take God at His Word, the “seed” of His Word is planted within you. IT MUST BE OBEYED. Obedience is often costly. It’s never easy. But it yields a life of freedom, joy, victory, and liberty! The Thessalonians were free from sin’s penalty and power. They were free from the fear of men and public opinion. They were free to serve the true and living God! A life lived obediently is filled with joy, knowing that one day we will stand

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 2) | The Church That Is Irresistibly Authentic
28/05/2023 Duração: 46min“Irresistible authenticity” describes early Christianity and the Apostle Paul’s ministry. People can argue with what we say but can’t argue with what they see. 3 STEPS TO MAKING AUTHENTIC DISCIPLES OF CHRIST… Be the Church that is irresistibly authentic. REACHING. It was what Paul did more than what he said that proved the authenticity of his ministry, which is why he reached many. This is why he had faith worth following! TEACHING. You grow spiritually from infancy to maturity by increasing your knowledge biblically and walking obediently. REPRODUCING. As a spiritual father, Paul desired to reproduce Christlikeness in his spiritual sons and daughters. You can teach what you know, but you reproduce what you are. Making disciples is more than the transfer of knowledge theologically. It’s the transfer of spiritual maturity. Join Pastor Phil Hopper as he further explains how to be an irresistible authentic follower of Christ. Don’t forget to click the “bell” to SUBSCRIBE to get more videos like this to

A Study of Thessalonians (Part 1) | The Church of Irresistible Influence
21/05/2023 Duração: 44minThe church at Thessalonica was a church of irresistible influence. They were living proof of a loving God to a watching world. 3 things made the Thessalonians a church of irresistible influence… Their work of FAITH. They placed their faith in the resurrected Christ, radically changing lives. Their faith in Christ unleashed the work of the Holy Spirit within them and revealed the holiness of the one true God. Their labor of LOVE. The Thessalonians were loving and serving, despite persecution and affliction. Many find the Church irresistible for being a loving community, yet others fie it reprehensible for its holy living. Their HOPE in Jesus. The Thessalonians’ hope was in the resurrection and return of the Lord Jesus Christ. They were a voice of hope to those around them. The church of irresistible influence stands for TRUTH, is known for LOVE, and is the voice of HOPE. Join Pastor Phil Hopper as he further explains how the church in Thessalonians inspires us to be an irresistible influence on other

The Power of Motherhood
14/05/2023 Duração: 40minThe power of motherhood is to shape their children and future generations. While our modern culture sometimes teaches that women having children is a problem, God considers having children a privilege and the role of the mother of utmost importance. The goal of motherhood is to train up our children to be more than “good” but truly godly! This demands we start early and do the hard work daily. The priority and power of motherhood is to teach their children their identity. Children naturally ask, “Who am I?” Who they are is defined by whose they are. God created and made them, which is why God gets to define them. “Self-idolatry” always results in a distorted identity. Teach your children who they are by teaching them who God is. Join Pastor Phil Hopper as he teaches on the power of motherhood. Mothers can teach their children about their God-given identities by teaching them about… God’s authority Spiritual reality Biblical community Don’t forget to click the “bell” to SUBSCRIBE to get more videos like thi

God Has a Mission for You!
07/05/2023 Duração: 49minJesus sends us on a mission to take the gospel to our neighbors and to the nations. God has a mission for you! Ask Him how He wants you to live sent. John 20:21 says, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” GOD’S MISSION FOR YOU IS TO LIVE SENT The Apostle Paul lived sent by keeping these 3 things in mind… He was a bondservant to Christ. Paul described himself as a debtor and a bondslave of the Lord Jesus Christ. A bondslave was not “forced” into servitude but one who willingly chose to serve their master, giving up all “rights” to their life. He was willing and ready. Paul could not contain his passion for the mission of taking the gospel to the nations! In Romans 1:15, he wrote, “So, as much as is in me, I AM READY to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also“ (emphasis added). The words “I am ready” are translated from two Greek words that imply passion and emotion. He was unashamed. In Romans 1:16, Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvat

Don’t Forsake God for False Freedom | Receive Living Water
30/04/2023 Duração: 41minHave you ever forsaken God for false freedom? Oftentimes we exchange following God’s lead for “freedom” and find ourselves running into a wall of hurt. That is because the freedom promised is false. It really wasn’t freedom at all, but a trap of destruction. Jeremiah 2:13 says… “’For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.’” Jeremiah is speaking on God’s behalf, telling the people that forsaking Him for false freedom is… Dangerous Causes ruin or injury Leaving Him behind HAVE YOU LEFT GOD BEHIND? We have a tendency to slowly drift away from God, forsaking time with Him thinking it will give us freedom elsewhere. Sadly, this only leads to destruction. Don’t trade a fountain of living water meant to satisfy you continually for a broken cistern that only brings temporary refreshment. Join Pastor Chad Glover as he teaches about.… The ways we can slowly drift from God The things we tend to lo

A Fountain of Living Water | Living as a Spiritual Pioneer
23/04/2023 Duração: 49minJesus came to give a dying world a fountain of “living water.” John 7:37-38 says, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive…” JOURNEY THROUGH THE WILDERNESS In Exodus 17, Israel set out on their journey through the wilderness, but there was no water to drink. They complained. They doubted God would provide, and they cast blame, saying, “Why is it you (Moses) have brought us out of Egypt, to kill us…” (Exodus 17:4). God told Moses to strike a rock and promised a fountain of “living water” would come out. And that it did, even when the people doubted. BE A SPIRITUAL PIONEER The reality was that God’s people were not slaves and prisoners as they had been in Egypt. Instead, they were spiritual pioneers because He was leading them through the wilderness to the Promised Land! The problem was they didn’t see themselves as sp
