Luke and Katie take a break from "bad movies" once a year and give you a list of favorite flicks from the past 12 months! Does it match your list? Did we snub something? Spielberg, maybe? It's not personal, I promise.

"The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause" (2006) // Dir. Michael Lembeck Wanna see Santa stressed about work, neglecting his pregnant wife, and dealing with his in-laws visiting the North Pole (along with his ex-wife and her husband & kid), all while Jack Frost tries to steal the famed red hat and coat? We got a flick for you!

Anna and the Apocalypse (2017) // Dir. John McPhail Holiday movie? Zombie movie? Musical? Check, check, and check! This culty scottish flick is just the jolt of gory yuletide cheer!

All About Steve (2009) // Dir. Phil Traill Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper are a pair of absolute stars. Hollywood legends! Beloved! This flick is not beloved. Unjustly? We'll be the judge.

"Barb Wire" (1996) // Dir. David Hogan This flick features Pamela Anderson in the lead role of a movie based on a comic book. Talk about ahead of her time! If you want action, romance, and "Casablanca" set in a dystopian 2017...your time has come.

J-Lo kicking ass. Need we say more? No, but we sure as hell decided to. This movie's got us pumped and full of opinions. Did Taylor find this flick so entrancing that she stole the entire plot for a creative writing assignment as a child? Listen and find out.

"The Doors" (1991) / Dir. Oliver Stone A band you love to hate? Or a movie? Was that the point? What is the point? Why does Luke dig the flick so fucking much? Perhaps, that's the biggest question of all. Let's dig in, brunchers!

It's the one time of the year where we talk about the good stuff. Not that the bad movies on our show are all bad, but these are pretty widely acknowledged to be good...which isn't the norm around here. Enjoy!

"The Karate Kid Part III" (Dir. John G. Avildsen) In a world where Cobra Kai is the toast of the town, it only made sense for Katie to invoke the crowning jewel of the Larusso trilogy. Please note: we recorded this episode in January 2022. So if our shit sounds dated...that's why. Actually never mind. We don't owe an explanation. Enjoy!

"Small Soldiers" (1998) // Dir. Joe Dante Why aren't there more family movies that are also terrifying? Jaws was rated PG for goodness sake! Is Small Soldiers to blame? Well, it didn't help anything did it?

"Josie and the Pussycats" (2001) // Dir. Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan You wanna talk about cult classics? This flick stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of 'em. Epic soundtrack. Killer script. Wildly funny. Insanely memorable. Impossibly of its day, yet somehow timeless????? We could gush and gush and gush and gush. And we kinda do!

"The Gay Deceivers" (1969) // Dir. Bruce Kessler We tackle a controversial comedy flick from the tail end of the Sixties about a pair of fellas posing as lovers in order to dodge the Vietnam War. If that doesn't entice you, literally nothing will.

"Rough Night" (2017) // Dir. Lucia Anello In this edition, we come to the conclusion that killing a stripper may not be that funny even if it's a bachelorette and her gal pals that did the deed. Did you like this flick? Did you love Hacks? This is the episode for you!

"Hook" (1991) // Dir. Steven Spielberg Did you know this flick was directed by Spielberg? Luke sure as hell didn't! (And he calls himself a filmmaker...)This early 90s gem is stuffed to the gils with Robin Williams acting his enormous heart out. Is it too long? Sure. It's very long. But with Mr. Williams gone from the world, thank goodness we have an overly long take on Peter Pan to enjoy forever and ever.

"Mortal Kombat" (1995) Dir. // Paul W. S. Anderson "Mortal Kombat" (2021) Dir. // Simon McQuoid What else is there to say? When we hear those fateful pair of fighting words uttered, our 90s kids juices get flowing! Strap in for a Bad Movie Brunch double feature as we discuss how both iterations stack up.

"Oliver & Company" (1988) // Dir. George Scribner Disney's animated adaptation of Oliver Twist helped usher in a renaissance of hits as the house of mouse moved into their successful string of 90s hits. But this story of orphaned animals and a homeless guy who's in deep with the mob didn't really rub critics the right way. You be the judge. Better yet, let us.

"The Lake House" (2006) // Dir. Alejandro Agresti We spend the weekend on the water with Keanu and Sandy as they fall in love through time and space. Or, time and lakes. Also the mailbox is magical? We don't actually touch on that concept as much as we should.
