It's the 50th traditional episode of the show, and Jacob acted accordingly, by taking the originally planned sci-fi episode and removing it in the schedule (don't worry, it'll show back up at some point he's assured me). But why was this done? Stuart and Jacob decided that the 50th episode called for a slightly bigger tentpole amongst remade films, and RoboCop certainly fit the bill. Another year comes to a close, and boy what a year it was. Not in a good way, though that should go without saying. For the last traditional episode of 2020, Stuart and Jacob once more dive into the Disney vault to cover yet another of their animated classics and its live action counterpart. Back at it again with the silent movies, but with a title featuring Buster Keaton, how could Stuart and Jacob refuse! The film was taken and remade a number of times, with one of the most recent interpretations being right before the turn of the century, replacing Keaton with Chris O'Donnell. Surprisingly, besides a more modern setting there are a lot more similarities between the two than there are differences. Halloween has officially begun early on They Remade It as it is finally the season for it, and therefore it is finally the time for some horror movies. It's pretty much impossible to escape Disney's pull, as the company not only has acquired plenty of franchises to remake, reboot, and sequelize, but they've done it with their own content plenty over the past fifty years. So, Stuart and Jacob take a look at Tron and it's sequel that no one had really been expecting, Tron: Legacy. Both of these films are fairly infamous when you consider the money they pulled in compared to what their actual budgets were, but how do they actually fare according to these two? This time around Stuart and Jacob are tackling a suggested episode. At least for the concept, they ended up picking the two version of the film to watch. There are a lot of adaptations of the original Brewster's Millions source material, including a film older than the 1945 one being discussed today (although unfortunately that is considered to be lost). What isn't lost however is the willingness to take on new films they haven't seen before and then compare and criticize them as if they have any clue what they're actually doing. Did you know that Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds is a remake? Well, technically it isn't and is more so just a borrowed title, but both films have Nazis and that sure is something. Is there any possible way that the 1978 film with the original correctly spelled title of Inglorious Bastards can live up to something created by a director both Stuart and Jacob admire? We'll have to see what exactly it has in store. It's official, the lockdown has driven both Stuart and Jacob so mad that, even with all their perceived downtime, they barely watched anything between this and the last episode. Its okay though, as they both have been dying to talk about these two movies from a franchise whose games they are only familiar with in the loosest sense of the words. How do they compare to one another and does the original still hold up today? And finally, will either of these films get the duo to actually play games from the franchise.
