This time around, Ray Harryhausen's final cinematic endeavor goes up against a retelling which a cast flooded with "Oh, that guy!" types. Which tells the story of Perseus's plight better? Perhaps both actually fail in some way, but honestly, who wants to hear that! For potentially the first time in the short history of the show, the duo is pleasantly surprised about a movie they went into with low expectations. Just goes to show you not to judge a movie by its poster (even if they people making it do have a less than stellar track record). Well, 2018 is finally drawing to a close and its time to look back on the year and ask ourselves... just what the hell happened?!? Jokes aside, a lot happened this year, with the actual inaugural episode of this very show going live even! Throughout the course of this longer than average episode, Stuart and Jacob discuss very aspects of the year, reviewing The Oscars, a few of the individuals that were lost, and they reflect on their favorite (and least favorite) films that they saw this past year. It's back to the earlier days of cinema in this episode as Stuart and Jacob tackle What Price Hollywood? (1932) and its brother from the same script, A Star is Born (1937). As the discussion unfurls, they try to rationalize why both films have clarity problems, with both having convoluted story elements, as well as whether or not condensing characters in a remake is worthwhile or not. This episode also features The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, some beautiful (and occasionally confusing) editing, discussion on how impactful even fleeting comic relief can be, and Lionel Stander playing a complete prick. It's time for an especially spooky look at two films that have surprisingly little in common outside of their primary antagonist's name. That's right, Stuart and Jacob are finally tackling the latter's favorite genre in a desperate attempt to latch on to the increasing popularity of the new Halloween release... wait, forget I said any of that. This episode features horror films galore, Donald Pleasence vs. Malcolm McDowell, discussion on when building up tension becomes unnecessary, and why people should have accepted Season of the Witch . Is this the first instance of a foreign language film on the show? I do believe it is! Stuart and Jacob analyze the Hong Kong crime film Infernal Affairs and the Martin Scorsese picture it inspired (though Scorsese wouldn't know that until later), The Departed. In the pilot episode of their new short series, They Remade It Again, Stuart and Jacob take a look back into the Ocean's franchise with the newest edition, Ocean's 8. Who would've thought that Danny Ocean had a sister? And who would've guessed that she wanted to commit crimes? OUTRAGEOUS!!! Prepare to reopen a closed case with They Remade It Again!

The duo take their first foray into Western films with the John Wayne classic and Coen Brother's potential classic, True Grit. Hear Stuart and Jacob discuss setting as a character, the importance of fast-paced dialogue, the work of artist Gary Baseman, and the obsession they both have for Forrester, The Bear Man. The boys are all in this time around, as they take a look at the 1960/2001 classic Ocean's movies. And huh, wouldn't you know it, only a little while after Ocean's 8 came out, strange. How does a loose collection of A-listers compare to a film notable for starring The Rat Pack (and associates)? Discussed this time around is Bo Burnham's first film, the legacy of Carl Reiner, the transition from stage to film, and the rise of Normal Fall... er, Fell. All this and more on They Remade It!

The first chance to take on an animated feature, and it comes along the same time that Christopher Robin appears in theaters. What are the odds? It's time to delve into the classic Winnie the Pooh franchise, seeing if the bear of very-little-brain and his friends have what it takes to be regarded as Disney's most treasured characters. The boys finally take a look at two movies directed at all ages, the martial-arts centered action flicks The Karate Kid...s. The show has also been retooled slightly, mainly in the music department, as well as inventing a new method of shortening their synopses so as not to take up the entire show anymore. Discussed this time around is the genius of Pat Morita, why Steven Universe probably should have ended a while ago, and why setting alone can not carry a film's weight. It's time for not only a horror/musical combo, but one of Jacob's favorite movies is being tackled this time around. The puppetry, the screams, the laughs, and especially their favorite aspects of both. They even talk about new releases, the purpose of musicals, Ernest Cline, and a new segment they created for the sole purpose of elongating the podacast. All this and more on They Remade It!

Finally, a more light-hearted affair with some comedy movies! This week, the boys go through Ghostbusters and, uh... Ghostbusters, comparing as they go. We'll take a look at what jokes work and what don't, how theming and pacing matter to a comedy, the library of Studio Ghibli and Jacob's undying love for Melissa McCarthy.

This time around, Jacob and Stuart dive headfirst into Blade Runner and it's sequel Blade Runner 2049, discussing how well the films tie into one another, as well as getting into it on the aspects of film noir, the influence of Stanley Kubrick, and the importance of colors to the futuristic Californian landscape

In the first actual episode of the series, Jacob and Stuart delve into two versions of the Armitage Trail book, "Scarface". Comparing and contrasting the 1932 Howard Hawks production to the 1983 Brian De Palma film is one thing, but the two go into extensive detail attempting to lay out the importance different characters make, analyze the major scenes of both motion pictures and their purpose, and come to a surprising revelation regarding the evolution of Tony as a character in both movies.
