This Youtube drama is crazy! (Fast-forward to the 16:30 minute mark for Wine Country.) Tati and James Charles are involved in a big blow-up going on in REAL TIME. Even if you never watch Youtube, the reality of how quickly people can retaliate is interesting. Netflix has just released Wine Country with Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler...but is it any good? What IS good is the latest iteration of the Twilight Zone with Jordan Peele. Another podcast, another Christian Bale movie: The Hostiles. He disappears into this role, also starring a luminous and raw Rosamund Pike.

Wonder Woman is on Netflix and Gal Gadot is everything, but sadly the story is not. By comparison, the other DC movie Dark Knight Rises (2012) with Christian Bale is such an outstanding action film. Toast of London is a super quirky, very funny new-ish British comedy also on Netflix. Colette with Keira Knightley is a gorgeous movie with an interesting true story behind it. Losers is a new Netflix sports documentary special with an important twist: the lessons that come from being a loser. Black Monday is a Hulu TV show that's so smart, goofy and funny too, set in the Wall Street 80s before the stock market crash. Jim Gaffigan's Noble Ape is another funny turn about middle America, and Amy Schumer shines in Growing, both one-hour specials on Netflix. If you've never watched Turkish cinema you should try it! Eksi Elmalar means Sour Apples, a beautiful movie by filmmaker Yilmaz Erdogan. "God Knows Where I Am" is a documentary on Netflix that asks important questions about how we treat and look after people with serious mental illnesses like schizophrenia in our society, and tells a mysterious true life story about a women's preventable death. Dirty John, the Netflix series, is a chilling cautionary tale for affluent divorcees. Highway Thru Hell is a slice of Canadiana and we love it. La La Land was so hyped when it came out and now it's on Netflix. Did it stand the test of time? We discuss. What we're watching: The psychological thriller You is totally bingeable. It stalled when it was on Lifetime Network, but got new legs on Netflix. One Day At a Time is so good and Rita Moreno is a goddess. Leap Year with Matthew Goode and Amy Adams is a charming delight. Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts is amazing too. Conan Without Borders is good comedy with a big childish streak. True Detective Season 1 is appealing, years later, but very gratuitous.

Tidying Up With Marie Kondo has sparked a storm, but are the accolades and jabs deserved? Friends From College Season 2 is out on Netflix, and we love it. Everyone (according to Twitter) is watching Netflix's latest Black Mirror episode: the groundbreaking Choose Your Own Adventure thriller Bandersnatch. We chose our own adventure and here's what we thought of it. Niall has been enthralled with The Staircase, Helen has watched Ellen DeGeneres' new comedy special. Bad Santa is the perfect antidote to the Hallmark Holiday movies that have taken over the season. Lastly: Netflix's Big Mouth. Anyone watching this and loving it? Helen thinks it might be overrated. 

We dive deep into Brokeback Mountain, the gorgeous Ang Lee-directed 2005 movie that is unbelievably poignant. Niall says that It Happened One Night is the very first romantic comedy, starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. Hallmark Christmas movies are having a real moment this season, two of the best include Christmas Everlasting and The Holiday Calendar. All Hail Queen Patti LaBelle! She's in two of our picks this week. In The Bedroom with Sissy Spacek is grim but moving. American Woman from Kyle Richards (née Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) is such fun 70s nostalgia. Lots of cigarettes, boat-cars, wide lapels and polyester, people.

Elite is an instant Netflix hit, and here's why the sexy murder mystery works but also has some cringe-worthy scenes. The Voyeur's Motel has tarnished writer Gay Talese's legacy (and here is the Toronto Life article Helen mentions called "Inside The Mind Of A Voyeur.") After all these years, the silly-scary Gremlins is such a delight and everyone should watch it. Bodyguard (not to be confused with the opus from Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner) is a tight political thriller Helen has mixed but ultimately approving feelings for, Fargo Season 3 is pretty good according to Niall (but Season 1 is better.) Amazon Prime tricked us into subscribing! So Helen watched Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. What's all the hype about? In The Dark podcast that's in the vein of Serial and S-Town is great, according to Niall.
