Many believers in Jesus Christ have experienced a deep relationship with him. Our sins have been forgiven, we have found help and hope in Christ. We acknowledge Jesus as the Lord of our life through Holy Spirit. We know God is for us and yet we still feel paralysed from time to time and sometimes for a long time- by fear and doubt or by the thoughts and opinions of others. We have all heard the expression "give until it hurts" but in the Kingdom of God we give because it helps. When we are generous with our time, our kindness, our finances, our understanding....it helps. Not only are others helped by our giving, but we too are blessed by God. Resting in the knowledge that we are loved by God helps us to better love ourselves. During the Covid pandemic we have had to find ways to better care for ourselves. When we love ourselves we silence the Pharisee within us that says "you can't do this" or "you have to do that" and instead we find peace while doing our tasks. This peace leads to even greater progress because we are no longer doing it as a :must do" but as an "I get to and God will help me".Matthew: 11:28-29"28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. But as believers in Jesus Christ our authority is meant to be used to administer love to the people around us. Love is an important element of the authority placed in us by Christ as his representatives here on Earth. But with authority comes great responsibility. Very shortly we are going to experience a cross over moment. A time when we cross over from lockdown and isolation back into freedom. We have an opportunity for the church to come out differently than when we went into lockdown. For a lot of people the definition lies in measuring how well we’ve done compared to others but the real test of success as a Christian is this-Did I fulfil God’s purpose for my life? Our faith leads us to a place of trusting God to be and to do all that He created us to be and accomplish. One of the great benefits of finding and fulfilling your life’s calling is that it settles the question of what constitutes true success AND provides the most life satisfaction. As Christians we enjoy the blessings of knowing and being known and loved by God. The ultimate blessing of course is our eternal home with God through Jesus Christ. But Jesus also said that there would be a church here on Earth-His very body and that we would all be connected- we would be a family. God cares so much for us that when we face pain or problems God is always ready to speak to us about our situation. God offers us promises in the midst of our challenges.
