Electro-Funk Edition 2008 v5 | Pt. 1 & 2
09/05/2008 Duração: 02h37minIt's that time again for some funky electro house music! Before I get into that, I want to bring everyone's attention to the "Party Favorz 'T' Collection". To your left, you'll notice I opened up a store with a whole selection of t-shirts sporting the kick-ass-cool (if I do say so myself) "Party Favorz" logo. This is something I've been meaning to do for a while and have already placed my order for several T's for my partner and myself. So, if you wanna sport something really nifty all the while hip, go check it out and see what flavor you like. I have two different logos; the first is the 'deteriorated' logo currently sported on this site and the other is the original shiny 'metal' logo I used when I had the subwoofer's on the site...hmm, maybe I'll go back and incorporate that into one of the designs. Anywho, you get the silk screened logo with the "Party Favorz" motto "Use It Up, Wear It Out...Then Do It Again" emblazoned across the front on a high quality 100% cotton shirt. You also have the option of goi

First Splash Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 2
02/05/2008 Duração: 02h37minWell, it looks as if I'm way ahead of the curve. I managed to clean up my computer, replace the motherboard, backup everything to two external hard drives (for anal retentive sake) and reinstalled Vista now that SP1 is out. I also switched to DSL from Cable (good riddance). So where did I find the time to knock this edition out you ask? I threw all the songs together in a giant mix and burned it to an mp3 disc so I could preview the tunes I wanted to use for this mix while I was working on the computer. Not only was the mix spectacular, I was able to go back and make a handful of tweaks and of course edits to cut the time under 80 minutes per mix for those that like to burn to disc. All told, I might have spent 3 hours in total in the mix. I can assure you, it's rare that all the songs I want to use just fall into place, but it does happen. Even though First Splash isn't until the end of the Month, I wanted to ensure there was no overlapping with my Pride Edition that comes out in June. So spacing these mixes

Deep Edition 2008 v5 [Pt. 1 & 2]
27/04/2008Sorry for the delay, but Comcast is up to no good again. Previously they had been throttling my uploads around an average of 55 kb/s, but are now limiting it around 5 kb/s. Heck, with those kind of speeds, who needs cable when dial up is much faster? That's ok. I went ahead and switched to AT&T which I should have up and running no later than Tuesday. It has been nothing short of a nightmare with Comcast. Their commercials always talk about "how fast they are" and their service is "Comcastic" et. al. Since switching from DSL to cable, I can honestly testify that their service is purely "Comcraptic". Slow speeds, constant connection losses and now the throttling of my uploads to the point where it's impossible to get one of my podcasts' uploaded, is completely unacceptable. Whether I'm uploading to Podbean, Flickr or Mozy (online storage), their service makes it impossible to get anything done without ripping out my hair. Oh wait, I just shaved it off this past weekend, so I guess a better analogy would be in

Deep Edition 2008 v4 [Pt. 1 & 2]
25/04/2008Well, so much for the projects I had planned. It always seems that no matter what I try to arrange, my timing is always off. That's okay, because you guys benefit from my delays. In fact, not only do you get my latest Deep Edition v4, tomorrow you get v5 as well! Hey, it's a twofer, not to shabby. While this mix is definitely more down the deep house path with a little tech house thrown in for good measure, tomorrows update will be a combination of progressive house and tech house just to mix things up a bit. Between both updates, you get the hottest and most current tunes in their respective genres. Not a bad deal at all. I'm pleased with the way things are going for the downloads. Looks like we no longer have bandwidth concerns which makes downloading less tedious. It also looks like many of you jumped on the iTunes bandwagon as well. I'm glad you like it. Make sure you click the "subscribe" button in iTunes to ensure delivery of my podcasts. Those of you who do not use iTunes, can still be noti

Funky House Edition 2008 v2 | Pt. 1 & 2
19/04/2008 Duração: 02h37minI finally got this thing wrapped up. I thought I was being so smart and had this mix in the can before my Prog mix last week. So I figured I'd hold out for Mariah's TMB (David Morales Mix) which is supposedly very funky. Unfortunately, that mix has yet to see the light of day, though I'm guessing a CD pressing may be in the works for a Perfect Beat exclusive next week. Initially, I thought I wouldn't have enough songs to create this mix. Because I held out for the DM mix, new stuff continued to arrive. So yesterday, I went back and threw out the entire mix and started from scratch. I have to say, the end result kicks some serious boot-ay! Some of you might be wondering...what happened to that funky new Bimbo Jones song? It turns out that the song is not new. Apparently, it was released two years ago. Consequently, I decided not to use it (though I absolutely love the song). However, there is some good news to this story. Apparently, Bimbo Jones along with Katherine Ellis (who I absolutely adore...watch out K

Progressive Edition 2008 v3
12/04/2008 Duração: 02h37minWell, I finally got the next installment of the Prog edition up and ready. This is the official direction this series will take. That is to say, deep, dark and very dirty. Lot's of tribal and electric throughout. This is for the hot sweaty men on the dancefloor. While this has never been my style, it's not hard to pick the songs I think will move the boys. Besides, I REALLY like making the cover art for this series...hehehe. I've been backed up all week, so I cut out the information posted with each track. I don't think anyone is going to mind, because ultimately, it's all about the music. I'm in the final mixdown for the Funky Edition, which will be out next Frigay. After that, I expect to take a 2-week hiatus as I work on other projects. I hope everyone has a great weekend and please, if you like what you hear, feel free to express yourself in the chat box to the left. Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based o

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 v4 | Pt. 1 & 2
04/04/2008 Duração: 02h38minWell, it's that time again for some Dirty Electro-Funk! As the last time, I had way too many songs and successfully managed to whittle it down to two discs. Not an easy thing to do, but when many of the songs are painfully redundant, it makes my job that much easier. Did you check out the cover art? I was going for one of those cheesy K-tel albums from the seventies and think I achieved that. My mom always bought these compilations when I was growing up, so I thought it would be cool to bring it back. Don't worry, I'll bring back disco Barbie soon enough. Also, just want to remind everyone, I'm currently working on the next installment of the Progressive Edition which will come out next week followed by the next installment of the Funky Edition (which is almost complete). After that, I plan on taking a break and will be back sometime in May. WMC is now over, and all the hot summer tunes start coming out. I'm expecting a sizzling summer for club music, particularly good ole funky house. So all you electro-h

House Edition 2008 v1
31/03/2008 Duração: 02h01minWelcome to the first ever Party Favorz: House Edition. Not quite deep enough for my Deep Editions and not quite Funky Enough for my Funky Editions, but definitely soulful and hip enough for a House Edition. There was just way too much good music to let go to waste. Let's face it, this is the music that got it all started back in the late eighties. Granted, house music is just an extension of disco from the seventies, but it developed into a cultural phenomenon sprouting other offshoots of the style. Electro, Deep, Jack, Trance, Tribal, and Progressive; you can thank the origin from which you sprang. Like no other, house music is and always will be the foundation for all great dance music. You may notice, this is an unusually long mix. Once I got started, I just couldn't stop. The whole thing flowed so well, I decided not to cut it in half. I'm guessing that most of you will just pop it into your iPod and won't care. Those that burn these mixes to CD, need not worry. Since most players these days support MP3 p

Spring Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 2
20/03/2008 Duração: 02h36minIt's the first day of spring, and it's time to celebrate! Last weekend, Atlanta got hit by a couple of tornados in the downtown area. This is a first, for the city. Saturday morning, the sirens went off and my partner and I turned on the television to see a massive tornado about a mile away from where we live. Thankfully, we scraped that one. The only thing I truly dislike about this time of the year, is the glowing yellow-green powder that covers your car once everything starts pollinating. That and my allergies tend to flare up, so I have to stay on top of my nasal spray or risk looking like the one-eyed beast after the other one swells closed. It's painful to say the least and the headaches are incredibly powerful. However, today we've got clear blue skies and temps should reach up into the lower sixties. Hopefully, it will stay that way through the weekend. I know it's been about two months since my Winter Edition, so I thought it was fitting to share my latest mix to kick off the first day of the seaso

Deep Edition 2008 v3 [Pt. 1 & 2]
09/03/2008Atmospheric, deep, dark and moody would be the best way to describe this mix. Granted, the title alone suggests that. However, this time around I dug a little deeper and have made a firm transition into how the Deep Edition should sound. After having just finished up last weeks Progressive Edition, I made the decision that much of the slower tempo progressive music overlaps with a lot of the deep house tunes. To me, progressive should be more about the uptempo harder sounds of electronica, which could include tribal or even hard dance. It's the slower songs that easily fit in with the deep tunes and add an overall different perspective. For instance, while this mix is predominantly deep house, I managed to work in some progressive, tech-house and minimal tunes. Other times, I find myself mixing in some Acid-House and low key funk or just straight up soulful. Going forward, I think all those elements will constitute my deep mixes in the future. I'll leave the heavier stuff for the prog mixes. I also

Progressive Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 2
01/03/2008Well, it was bound to happen. After mixing up the free tracks from Beatport's 4 year anniversary, and receiving a tremendous response, I decided to add the Progressive Edition to my arsenal. For whatever reason, Beatport took down those free tracks shortly after I put up my mix and haven't posted anything since. I'm not sure what's really going on with them. They might be getting a little too big for their britches. I recently submitted a request to have access to their download links, so I could link each individual song directly back to its' landing page. They want me to pay $250 for the software to do that. Huh? Seems to me they are the ones that benefit from the exposure I'm providing them. In fact, I have yet to make a cent by promoting them on this blog. Well, you can rest assure, I'm not about to pay them for the linkage. I've checked into the Gay Blogads, and will most likely be using them in the very near future and remove all references to Beatport. For now, I'll continue providing links back to the

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 v3 | Pt. 1, 2 & 3
22/02/2008First off, everyone that receives updates through an RSS feed (Google, Yahoo, etc.) or email, please go back and re-subscribe again. I know...I know, I just asked you to do that, but there was a problem with the new feed that I couldn't correct and support from Feedburner is kinda lacking. Consequently, I had to scrap it and start all over again. I can assure you, everything is now working correctly and there will be no further need to do this again. Your patience is much appreciated. For those of you who have not signed up for updates; whatcha waitin' for? Everyone that has signed up for the alerts, understands I update this blog frequently with brand-spanking new mixes. Even if you're only into one specific genre, it's worth it to not miss out whenever I post something new. Now, onto the music. All I can say is WOW! 275 songs cut down to 76; 5 mixes and 400 minutes of the finest non-stop electro-funk, I think I've outdone my own personal best. Granted, knocking out 5 mixes in less than two weeks, is time-c

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 v2 | Pt. 1 & 2
19/02/2008 Duração: 02h37minWell, I've managed to finalize the first two mixes of the Electro-Funk Edition and they are FIERCE! The first mix is closer to what I consider electro-lite with some funky tunes rounding it out. The second mix is predominantly harder, and not something you should be listening to while working out, or you might hurt yourself [grin]. Seriously, going through 275 new songs and cutting it down to 30 for this mix, was no easy feat. Keep in mind, I've got Edition v3 I'll be working on shortly, which will contain another 30 songs. I should have it up sometime this weekend. In the meantime, you can check out the mix before downloading with the Podbean player and hey, if you like what you hear, or totally think it sucks, pull a Janet out of your ass and leave some feedback...CRANK IT UP, GIVE IT TO ME COME ON! Until this weekend...Enjoy! Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts. Electro-Funk Edition 2008 v1 | Pt. 1 & 2
08/02/2008First and foremost, I want to apologize for my previous statement indicating that anyone voting for a candidate (in this case Obama) without fully understanding what they stand for, is stupid. I don't really believe that. Those that know me, understand I am passionate about my politics and can get carried away sometimes. There is no mistake about Barak's passion and ability to motivate and instill hope in people. Without a doubt, I believe you can attribute the overwhelming turnout among voters to his presence in the race. As I mentioned before, the first time I saw him was on C-SPAN shortly after he became the junior Senator from Illinois. I was immediately drawn to him and was very impressed by his thoughtfulness. What I have been attempting to do is draw a distinction between his candidacy and Clinton's. Frankly, there are only minor differences between the two's positions. Then I try to look at the challenges that the next administration will face, and truly believe that Hillary has the most experience an

Deep Edition 2008 v2
02/02/2008Before I get into the mix, I have to comment on last night's final Democratic debate. Aside from the niceties that were exchanged, Hillary looked FLAWLESS in her chocolate pantsuit coupled with some turquoise jewelry pieces for a splash of color. Personally, I would have gone with kelly green to offset the brown, however, turquoise is very in right now. All is right in the world when we know how to successfully combine our colors for a statement. In all seriousness, it was nice to see them finally focus on winning the White House back from Republican control, instead of the usual bickering that was dividing the party. Ultimately, they need to come together and unify the Democrats for what will certainly be a viral campaign against the Repubs. For now, may the best woman or man win. In the end, I'm still predicting a Clinton/Obama ticket. Frankly, I don't care if it's the other way around. Truth be told, they both appeal to various factions of the Democratic Party and a double bill with both of them w

Winter Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 2
18/01/2008T.G.I.F. Ah yes...made it just in time for the weekend! This was no easy feat. Before I get on with the usual discussion about the songs on this mix, I want to bring up a few things. First, there are only a few days remaining to get your vote in for the way you prefer the mixes to be delivered. You can cast your vote just to the right of this post. 2nd, for those of you who apparently haven't figured it out yet, when it says Disc 1/2, that means there are two discs in this collection. Disc 1/2 is the first download and when you scroll down somewhere in the middle, you will find Disc 2/2, or the second download for that mix. I only brought this up because a whopping number of you jumped all over my Electro-Tech Edition, but only half downloaded the second one. Therefore, I'm guessing many of you aren't aware of the second mix. Now, if it says Disc 1/1, well that means there is only one download for that mix. It can happen, so just be mindful of that fact. 3rd, I made this blog at the urging of friends. Ofte

Electro-Tech Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 2
16/01/2008What? Another update so soon? You bet! I told you at the beginning of the year I had a sh!t load of music to go through. Instead of combining many of the songs from the Funky Edition with the Tech House songs (much like in Party Favorz 2007: Funky Edition v6), I made the decision to separate them out. There was just way too much good music pouring out to leave them off the mixes. So, no posturing or political updates to discuss today...it's all about the music. Once you get into to this mix, you'll see that it's one great song after another. I really hope everyone enjoys this mix as much as I did making it. For those that may have noticed the HOT guy (courtesy of Modern Fabulosity), in my Flickr slideshow for the newly created "Winter Edition", it's because that mix is on its way next! I don't want all you circuit boys to think I've forgotten about you. I'll try to have it out for the weekend, but no promises. I can assure you, it'll be worth the wait. A few things of note: Please vote on the right for you

Funky House Edition 2008 v1 | Pt. 1 & 2
14/01/2008 Duração: 02h37minFirst and foremost, I am ecstatic about the elections on Tuesday. Looks like we got ourselves a two-way horse race between Clinton and Obama. Anyone that has been following the political blogs realizes just how passionate both camps are about their prospective candidates. What has concerned me is the vitriol hatred geared towards Hillary. Based on the supposed polling data which gives her an unfavorable "likability" rating; I suspect most of this is driven by the media. So who exactly did they poll? Frankly, after New Hampshire, we saw just how reliable those polls are. The unjustified criticism Hillary has received is unprecedented. When you hear someone like the ass-wipe Chris Matthews from MSNBC, publicly state "the only reason Hillary became a Senator and is now running for President is that her husband messed around". Huh? Well if that's the case, the only reason George Bush became Governor of Texas and subsequently President of the United States is because his last name is "Bush" and his family has a sh

Deep Edition 2008 v1 [Pt. 1 & 2]
07/01/2008First, I would like to wish everyone a happy New Year and thank you all for the kind words that have been left in my Cbox. There's more work that goes into this blog than I would have ever imagined. Not that I'm complaining; on the contrary, I really enjoy doing this. So please keep the comments, suggestions or requests coming. I'll do my best to respond. Right now, I'm thinking about changing the name of the site to Party Favorz instead of K j A M Productions. Let me know what you think. Before I get into the latest Deep Edition, I just want to touch on another very important issue. This will mainly apply to the U.S. folks. From the onset of the presidential contenders throwing their hat into the ring, I've been a big fan of Hillary Clinton. Without a doubt, she is a smart and savvy player who would be formidable against any Republican nominee. I like her message and the way in which she carries herself. Anyone that's read anything about her during the time she was First Lady, knows full well that she's got

Top Dance Songs of 2007 Volume 2 | Deep & Funky
24/12/2007 Duração: 02h01minAs promised, I'm sending part 2 of the Deep & Funky 2007 Top Dance Songs of the Year. This set is packed with several of my personal favorites including Booty Luv's "Boogie 2nite", Cahill's "Trippin On You" Degrees of Motion's updated "Do You Want It Right Now" Tony Moran & Martha Wash's "Keep Your Body Working" Nowak's Boogie Oogie Oogie inspired "Stand Up" Mika's "Love Today" Roisin Murphy's "Let Me Know" and Fish Go Deep's "The Cure and the Cause". I just love all the songs. This was an unplanned trip back to when Party Favorz all began. A diversionary if you will, but an important part of our history. I promise to get summer 2017 officially kicked off tomorrow with Pool Party followed by the next EDM/Dance set and Summer Edition for the circuit boys the following week. I've also got stealth and brand new inductions into the Diva Hall of Fame that will roll us into August, just in time for Madonna's annual birthday mix. Until then...ENJOY!
