Welcome to the weekend wrap-up as I submit to you the final installment of the Deep series.  One of the things I enjoy most about making this edition is the ability to throw in whatever I'm feeling at any given moment.  Some of the past Deep Editions were more soulful deep house, while others were eclectic falling anywhere between funk, acid jazz, deep house, tech house and/or soulful.  Clearly this series has been more on the progressive side of the coin.  This mix starts out hitting hard before lowering the tempo a bit and keeping the overall feel somewhere in the middle.  I managed to combine progressive, tech, electro house and even a trance tune for good measure.  Overall, I'm very pleased with the end result and hope you are too. We're half way through the summer deep series, and it feels like I'm just getting started.  While I like all of these mixes for a variety of reasons (usually mood), I have to say this mix really packs a punch with back to back top notch tunes.  That's right, no HHH ½ filler here.  Often times, the mixes are only as good as the song selection.  Granted, wading through 500+ songs and narrowing it down to a fraction of that amount is no easy task.  I typically don't spend much time previewing.  I'll drop in the song towards the beginning and then skip to the middle.  If the song hasn't grabbed my attention by that point, I hit the delete button.  Yeah I know, I can be tough and may even be bypassing a gem, but it's a system that has served me well and this mix only proves that. First of all, I want to make the iTunes folks aware that my new podcast address https://partyfavorz.podbean.com/feeds has now been accepted by iTunes and you will now be able to subscribe once again.  Remember, this is a different feed address from the last one and as such requires previous subscribers to go back and subscribe again.  I changed it so that everything would be consistent between my blog and my podcast.  I guess you could say it's all about branding. Second, I want to welcome everyone to the eighth, yes #8 installment of the Deep Edition.  Geez, where has the year gone?  What was once the least of my mixes has now turned into the second most popular next to the Electro-Funk Edition.  While I use a varied style in the deep mixes, this one leans heavily towards progressive, tech and house.  Because I haven't done one of these in well over two months, I must have had 500+ tunes to wade through.  I narrowed that down to 48 and then went back and added about nine more taken from Beatport's current to

First and foremost, I want to thank Alex, Joseph, Nick, David V, David J, Klaus and my good friend Glenn a.k.a. discoball for answering my call for help.  Without it, I would have been forced to suspend this site for a while.  That being said, with the kind of numbers Party Favorz has been drawing over the past several months and the disproportionate amount of downloads vs. contributors, it's a shame that people can't lend a hand to something they clearly enjoy.  There's a lot more work that goes into this site than you could ever imagine.  For now, my plans are to keep the status quo as far as the site is concerned, though I will continue to look for ways to draw some type of revenue stream that would allow me to remove everything from my budget into one that solely exists for continuing operations.  As I've previously stated, I'm not looking to get rich, just the ability to cover any costs associated with maintaining this site. ...and finally, I'm serving up v4 of the 2008 Beach House Edition.  You can expect some of the best funky and soulful house of the summer, with a touch of disco in the mix.  In fact, whoever can tell me the original songs from which #8 and #14 were taken from will get...hmmm, let's see, oh yeah, my admiration.  I'd give away a free t-shirt, but right now I'm ass broke!  The first should be obvious to most since not only was it a #1 disco hit in 1975, but a #1 pop hit as well.  The second was a #1 disco hit but barely cracked the top 40.  However, if you were a faithful American Bandstand viewer every Saturday, you might very well remember it.  For me, the hooks were instantly recognizable and I was wondering when someone would get around to sampling the latter.  Even though they went far beyond sampling, in both cases, they pretty much ripped off the originals note for note.  Thankfully they did because they're smokin' HOT! Hot on the heels of the Electro-Funk mixes, I bring you the true essence of summer (at least for me).  Easy, breezy carefree and feel good, would best describe this mix.  A culmination of funky and soulful house is just what the season is all about.  Oh, and did I mention funky?  Heck yeah!  I also added a few disco diddies which will be more evident in the future mixes of this edition.  So whether you're heading out to Ibiza, the beach or your favorite summertime destination, I've got something to keep you cool. Right now, our apartment is in total disarray.  We've had painters coming in and out since yesterday, and are expecting the floorers later this afternoon to replace the carpet, laminate floors and tiling.  Yippee!  Anyway, everything has been a mess and difficult to maneuver in.  Hopefully, after today everything will begin to be normal (though I don't think all of our junk will be back in its place until this weekend).  As a result, I haven't had much time to preview this or the final mix.  I'm hopeful that it's okay.  I should wrap this series up later this week and expect to begin work on the Summer House mixes shortly.  I made a promise to get my workspace organized and clean, so I'll spend Saturday cleaning up that mess.  Until then, I'll keep the electro juice flowing and as always...Enjoy! Well, this is the fourth and final installment of the 2008 Pride Edition.  As promised, I went much lighter on this mix.  Altogether, you'll find it to be fun, funky and full of camp, just the kinda a sing-a-long frivolity that gay gatherings are all about.  I decided to bring this out a day earlier so I can wrap things up and take a much-needed break.  Last week I stated that the majority of Pride events were in full swing, when in fact it's this week.  I don't know, sometimes I think I live on Planet B (blonde).  Oh well, I can't be on top of everything all the time. This weekend, the majority of Pride events will be taking place from coast to coast.  As such, it's fitting that I have my 3rd installment of my Pride Edition up and ready to go.  Get ready for some serious BIG, BAM, BOOM! in this mix.  I want to give a shout out and big thanks to DJ 7Up for sliding my a copy of the unreleased Manny Lehman mix of Lady GaGa's "Just Dance".  By substituting that song for something I considered ordinary and run of the mill, it took an outstanding mix and essentially made it excellent. Some of you may have noticed that the Beatport Pride Edition was a little shrill, especially at the beginning.  Considering that the songs were free, I can't complain too much.  However, I did go back and put it through Platinum Notes which analyzes the mix and then makes the necessary pitch and dynamic adjustments.  I don't use this software often, because it's not always dead on and can actually ruin individual songs.  If I encounter a problem with the original track, I generally prefer to do it

Well, it's that time of year again. After kicking things off with all sorts of circuit parties throughout the nation for Memorial Day Weekend, followed by Gay Days at Disney World in Orlando, FL, it's now time for Pride to take center stage. More than any other year, I feel this could be the most important Pride in a very long time. With the historical primary season behind us and so many gay issues on the table, the largest being marriage and equality, I thought I'd dedicate the entire month of June to Pride. This is the first of four mixes that will be released every Friday this month. Because the city barred all festivals in Piedmont park due to the drought last year, everyone was scrambling to secure venues. Atlanta Pride will take place over the July 4th weekend (one week later than usual) at the Atlanta Civic Center. It will be interesting to see how they pull this off since it will be a combination of indoor and outdoor festivities. Unlike past events, they will require a $5 admission fee and up to $20

Originally my intent was to put this mix out in early July, but I've been in a bit of a funk lately and decided I needed something to cheer me up.  Strange, because that kinda feeling usually only happens in the winter.  So I did two things to combat this: 1) I joined a gym and am feeling great.  I even convinced Rick to join with me, which was kinda fun watching him.  As someone that has never stepped foot in a gym, I thought I'd start him out slow and put him on the elliptical and selected their basic program.  While I'm going away at it, two minutes into his exercise he starts to feel the burn and quits.  Disappointed, I suggested the treadmill.  Well, that got about a five-minute run before he switched to the bike which got another five minutes...LOL.  Then he just stood around until I finished up about thirty minutes later.  Geez, I thought I was taking it easy on him. First, I want to take this opportunity to welcome many of our new listeners on board and thank you for the wonderful suggestions. Many of you are not aware that I have been in the process of moving everything over to Podbean to house all the mixes. As a result, some of the download links may be broken. Because of the amount of storage and archiving available to me, I'm only able to move over so many MB's every month. Nevertheless, I still have my old 4shared account and any links that are not working, please let me know (as some of you already have) and I'll do my best to get them reactivated as soon as possible. I also want to suggest that you browse the archives to find your preferred genre. For instance, while many of the mixes I completed in March and April may be old by DJ standards, they are chock full of songs that are just now getting national attention and may be more familiar to you. I try to stay ahead of the curve in my mixes, so when I post something new, it may not contain many songs you're fam
