  • Christmas Eve Edition: 'Twas The Night Before AOL Christmas

    24/12/2015 Duração: 04min

An AOL Night Before Christmas 'Twas a month before Christmas, from my wife came the wail, "Take out the garbage and go get the mail." So I trudged to my mailbox and what did I see? Why, a miniature disc and computer CD! 'Twas a limited offer from America Online, I knew in a twinkling that this deal was fine! "Unlimited" access for one little fee, And if I didn't like it I could cancel it free. So I plugged the thing in and it just wouldn't load, The message said "Error!" and something in code. And this is when I started getting real nervous So I waited four hours for "Customer Service." This techno-geek helped me to load and install it, Then demanded the VISA I keep in my wallet. So I gave him my number and what did I spy? "Terms and Conditions" screens whistling by. Then I got me a password now I'd surf the Net! But I never hit waves, man, I never got wet. I soon got so mad I was shaking and dizzy For my modem kept trying but lines were all busy! And all through the month I kept trying this thing But all I w

  • 22: Brand Identity for 2016: Time for Re-evaluation

Social Media crowdsourcing at its finest. Help support the Brand Boost Podcast here --> patreon.com/brandboost Brand Identity It's already 2016... well, almost 2016. Less than two weeks away and a new year will bring new business challenges and new solutions. With that, it is time to figure out your brand identity too. With each passing year comes a natural desire for brands to evolve, to push themselves further and to plot the best path forward. Let’s face it: there’s a ton of pressure involved, too. Several major players – including Google, IHOP, Facebook and Spotify – opted for logo makeovers during the past 12 months, all of which were met with a mixed bag of praise on social media. Then again, other companies have found a fine balance between their tried and tested formulas and a willingness and enthusiasm to expand creatively. That’s what’s so impressive about Blue Moon’s upcoming rebrand, recently covered in AdAge and set to be unveiled during the spring of 2016. The cosmetic changes ahead are a simp

  • 21: How a Social Media Agency Can Help Your Business

    17/12/2015 Duração: 13min

This day and age, many, if not most, businesses understand that there is a great power in social media. Unfortunately, those same business owners think it's ok to hire a young kid or someone fresh out of college because they "know how to tweet".  Yikes! Decisions like these, however, can cost you. Building a working relationship with a legitimate digital marketing agency will provide a strategy to generate ROI, not just a spattering of random posts on social media sites. Many feel that because social media is vastly free, why spend money to manage what you can do for nothing? Remember, time and effort are commodities that have no price tag, costing you more in the long run, never mind the countless headaches, large learning curves and oftentimes, failure. Just because I can screw in a light bulb doesn’t mean I’m an electrician. Let’s take a look as to how a digital marketing agency is the right move for your business. EXPERIENCE This is the most obvious one. We have the experience that you don’t. Hashtag, SE

  • Watch Live Periscope Streams on Apple TV

    03/11/2015 Duração: 08min

The live mobile video streaming revolution may have just gotten what it needed to go mainstream.   Apple TV now offers a Periscope app, allowing millions of users to watch user generated live streams from the comfort of their own couch.   Of course, the writing was on the wall when Periscope first launched “Couch Mode”, a clever way of auto-playing similar streams without the need to select. Then there was the move to landscape mode. Two moves that allow the app to be powerful features on that big screen at home.   Here are my three quick conclusions for Apple TV and Periscope:  This “partnership” may open up the TV space to other social platforms. Apple will own third party experiences and user generated content. Apple has leverage to negotiate with cable companies for their seemingly inevitable live streaming TV service.
