Welcome to Episode #22 of ACAB Radio. Today we will be talking about several stories of police terrorism and crooked cops that went viral this past week as well as some local news stories. We will start with the "public fact finding" for Tashii Brown. Hope you all enjoy the show!

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 21

    04/01/2019 Duração: 53min

Thank you all for joining us for the ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcast Episode #21. ACAB Radio, which is a collaboration between Nevada Cop Block (NVCopBlock.org) and Food Not Bombs Las Vegas(FoodNotBombsLasVegas.org), is recorded live (before a studio audience), via Facebook Live. As always, we'll had plenty to talk about on this episode of ACAB Radio. That, of course, included discussion of local issues with the police and politicians. First though, we obviously talked about the Murder of Botham Jean by Dallas Police Department Officer Amber Guyger. The more new information that comes out the more obvious it is that no real investigation was made of his killing. In fact, the more it seems that that "investigation" was geared toward smearing Jean and blaming the victim in order to clear Guyger of any responsibility for her murderous actions. (See related story: https://nvcopblock.org/…/officer-amber-guygers-murder-both…/) We also be discussed the 2015 fatal

The show, which is a collaboration between Nevada Cop Block (NVCopBlock.org) and Food Not Bombs Las Vegas(FoodNotBombsLasVegas.org) was recorded live before a studio audience. As always, we'll have plenty to talk about on this episode of ACAB Radio. This week we will be discussing some of the local issues with police. First and foremost, Stephen Stubbs, a local lawyer and longtime friend of the show (https://nvcopblock.org/tag/stephen-stubbs/), was actually arrested once again for refusing to leave his one of his clients. As was the case in 2013, he was again charged with obstruction. It'll obviously be interesting to see how this plays out. (https://nvcopblock.org/…/attorney-stephen-stubbs-arrested-…/) This will also include discussion of the recent spate of shootings by Las Vegas area police. As of today, Metro is now up to 19 shootings for the year and (when you include Henderson) there have been 10 shootings by the police within the past month alone, mostly in the last two weeks. Their lat

    03/01/2019 Duração: 59min

Thank you all for joining us for Episode #19 of the ACAB Radio Las Vegas pirate podcast. Our show is a collaboration between Nevada Cop Block (NVCopBlock.org) and Food Not Bombs Las Vegas (FoodNotBombsLasVegas.org) and is recorded live before a studio audience. As always, we have plenty to talk about on this episode of ACAB Radio. This week we have Ballentine, a longtime friend of the show, on as a guest. Back in August of 2013, Ballentine, along with ACAB Radio host Kelly W. Patterson and three other members of Nevada Cop Block (the "Sunset 5"), was arrested and charged with "graffiti" crimes for writing on public sidewalks with sidewalk chalk. We'll discuss chalk activism in general, as well as those retaliatory arrests, and the reasons why those protests were happening. Ballentine has since moved to Olympia, Washington. Among other things, we'll also discuss activism in the Northwest and the many differences between Vegas and Olympia. In addition, we'll obviously be discussing some of

We'll be playing and commenting on video of Steve Wolfson District Attorneyand David Rodger, the former D.A. who quit to become the official lawyer for the Las Vegas police union, making bad justifications for it. Other local issues include the LVMPD shooting three people in the last two days. Also, the city and Metro harassing and trying to drive out a local Elks Lodge, whose membership is made up primarily of African Americans. As well as, some of the blatant corruption that is taking place in and around the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. Today on ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcast Episode #10, among other things, we discussed the City of Mesa Police Department's attempts to supplant the LVMPD as the dirtiest, most violent police department in the west, the former spokesperson of the Henderson Police Department; who got drunk and crashed his car into a light-pole over the weekend, the corruption and racism of Sheriff "Lyin" Joe Lombardo, as well as his attempts to prevent a local business from providing Las Vegas residents with a free Conceal Carry (CCW) permit class. Hope you all enjoy your ears

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 09

    24/06/2018 Duração: 55min

This week on the ACAB Radio Podcast #9 we had an update on the situation regarding a grand jury's "review" of charges against LVMPD Officer Kenneth Lopera, who murdered Tashii Brown one year ago at The Venetian Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip. As has been reported previously, the Clark County District Attorney's Office and Lopera's Las Vegas Police Protective Association lawyers have continued to stall and delay the grand jury decision by continuing the case until June. Also, we discussed incidents in which members of independent media have been targeted for exclusion from the courtroom during cases involving police officers. In this particular instance, Nissa Tzun of the Forced Trajectory Project (ForcedTrajectory.com) and Families United 4 Justice (FU4Jnetwork.org) was thrown out of the courtroom based on the fact the dress she was wearing was sleeveless. This isn't the first (or only) arbitrary and selective enforcement of dress codes against observers in the courtroom, however it is a rarity and seems

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 08

    24/06/2018 Duração: 01h51s

Today King Ron and Jay Lyfer had to coast the airwaves without Special K. We discussed Metro's most recent officer involved shooting (OIS#6) in which yet another cowardly rookie cop opened fire on a member of our Las Vegas community. LVMPD Officer Wills shot his victim 7 times. The victim was a 34 year old woman named Sommer Richards. Our journey took us on various tangents as we discussed many issues including poverty & homelessness, the wealth gap in the US and in the world combined with the lack of social mobility, the death of the American Dream, and the importance of workers unions in light of the upcoming Culinary Union Strike Vote. Hope you enjoy the show!

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 07

    24/06/2018 Duração: 01h04min

The #ACAB Radio Las Vegas Podcasts Episode #7: On this show we discussed the Mother's Day Vigil for Tashii Brown (and other families impacted by police violence) that Families United 4 Justice held at the Bellagio Las Vegas and the silent march from there to the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino, where Tashii Brown was murdered by LVMPD Officer Kenneth Lopera on Mother's Day 2017. We also had a recap of the banner display that took place afterwards, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Poli...ce response. As part of that larger discussion we also discussed the targeted arrests of local Black Panther Party members (including Jay Jackson) that happened prior to the start of the vigil. In addition, there were also several arrests of those involved in the banner unfurling. Full details of the Justice for Tashii Brown / 1st Year Mother's Day Vigil, banner display, and arrests have been posted at the Forced Trajectory Project's website - http://www.forcedtrajectory.com/…/first-mother-s-day-vigil-… and an article on Nevada Cop B

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 06 (Bonus Material)

    12/05/2018 Duração: 08min

Nissa Tzun of the Forced Trajectory Project (ForcedTrajectory.com) and Families United 4 Justice (FU4Jnetwork.org) discusses the upcoming May 13th "Justice for Tashii Brown / 1st Year Mother's Day Vigil." Tashii Brown was murdered by LVMPD Officer Kenneth Lopera on Mother's Day in 2017. While Lopera has since (only) been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, a grand jury is currently reviewing those charges and potentially could decide not to uphold that indictment.

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 06

    12/05/2018 Duração: 01h05min

On the sixth episode the ACAB Las Vegas Radio (https://www.facebook.com/ACABradio/) weekly podcast, Nissa Tzun of the Forced Trajectory Project (ForcedTrajectory.com) and Families United 4 Justice (FU4Jnetwork.org) came on again as a guest. (She previously appeared on our third show: https://youtu.be/h0__1_5sMiw) Among other things, we discussed the "Justice for Tashii Brown - 1st Year Mother's Day Vigil" (https://www.facebook.com/events/943016019208325/), which will take place on Sunday May 13th in front of the Bellagio Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip at 3pm (PST). As the title of the event indicates, this vigil commemorates one year since Tashii Brown was murdered by LVMPD Officer Kenneth Lopera at the Venetian Hotel early in the morning of Mother's Day 2017. (More info - https://nvcopblock.org/?s=tashii+brown) Incidentally, the already inadequate charge of "Involuntary Manslaughter" that Lopera is facing for purposely choking Brown to death is currently under review by a grand jury that has the ability to vac

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 05

    12/05/2018 Duração: 47min

The fifth episode of the ACAB Radio Las Vegas podcast was taped live (before a studio audience) on the morning of the 12th Annual Las Vegas May Day / Primero de Mayo Marcha. Some of the topics of discussion included the origins of May Day dating back to the Haymarket Massacre that took place in 1886 during a protest advocating for an 8-hour work day in Chicago. Additional topics included why it is one of the few genuine anarchist holidays, some of the reasons it is so underappreciated and misunderstood within the United States, and the fact that it is celebrated in virtually every other country across the world except here in the United States. During the second half of the show, we discussed the case of Tashii Farmer-Brown, who was murdered by LVMPD Officer Kenneth Lopera on Mother's Day in 2017. Further discussion involved the treatment of protesters (and others) who are arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. As part of that larger discussion, we had a guest

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 04

    12/05/2018 Duração: 58min

We discussed the April 5th shooting of Junior Lopez by officers Mills and Rivera of the LVMPD. We went over some of the inconsistencies within the body camera footage they released. We also discussed claims made by eyewitnesses that the audio on those body cam videos may have been edited, as well as a recent case in which it has been proven that audio was in fact edited by the Boulder City Police Department on one of their dash cam videos. Also, we pointed out the way Metro misrepresented what happened during the traffic stop in which Lopez was shot at their press conference and within the YouTube description. After that we discussed the sentence Cop Block Network Co-Founder Ademo Freeman recently received in Ohio on marijuana related charges. An article written by Deo Odolecki, which was reposted to the Nevada Cop Block (NVCopBlock.org) site, makes the point that Ohio is a state that recognizes the medical use of cannabis and Ademo is a registered medical marijuana patient and therefore logically should be a

  • ACAB Radio Las Vegas - Episode 03

    12/05/2018 Duração: 01h02min

On the third ACAB Radio Las Vegas podcast Nissa Tzun came on as a guest to discuss the Forced Trajectory Project and Families United 4 Justice. She also discussed some of her own background and how that led to her becoming involved with issues of police abuse and violence and supporting the families of the victims though those projects. The show was very good and informative. Hopefully, we will have Nissa and some of the people and families she works with on again, because an hour really just wasn't enough time to talk about everything she's doing and the impact it's making within the communities she works in. ACAB Radio Las Vegas, a weekly collaboration between members of Nevada Cop Block (NVCopBlock.org) and Food Not Bombs Las Vegas is recorded live at the Happy Earth Market in Downtown Las Vegas (AKA the #DTLV) every Tuesday at noon (PST) with hosts Joey Lankowski, King Ronald Mecklosky, and Kelly W. Patterson.
