When we value the moment that we are in that is when we find joy in what we are doing. I recently returned from a trip to Hong Kong where I had an opportunity to referee at an international championship as well as work with incredible South African supporting and loading team. I did not have an opportunity to tour because I valued what I was doing and learning more than touring Hong Kong. It was a truly wonderful experience. Today is a very tough day for those of us who have lost their fathers and partners. Seeing the loving posts on social media from kids and spouses or the families out celebrating today when we cant. It is also a day to acknowledge and that the single Mothers, Grandparents and Child Headed Households working so hard to be both the Mother and the Father their children, grandchildren or siblings need.

My guests Tessa Whitfield and Victoria Webster have been running groups, eating psychology programs, workshops and support spaces together for the last two years. After much trial and error and learning what works and what doesn’t work, they have come together to build a community intended to help people connect with one another and make real changes in their relationships with food and eating. The idea for this community comes from a place of psychological research and evidence, but also because they both have personal experience on how powerful this kind of community can be. Tessa Whitfield, a Nutrition Coach, lost over 30kg, but in the process recognised that more work needed to ensure that the weight stayed off, unlike past weight loss experiences.
