"Scrapers: A Comedy for Romantic Stoners (2016)" Dir. Jake S. Weisman This week, in Katie's absence, Luke is joined by Jake S. Weisman to talk about his debut feature film: Scrapers. Instead of gabbing about some studio picture like we normally do, Jake provides a beautiful perspective into the world of fringe filmmaking and what it's like to shoot a movie in the heart of Chicago. Scrapers is a lovely marriage between the rom-com and the stoner comedy genre. In short...You'll laugh. You'll high. (Not my best). Also, you can watch his flick on Amazon Prime. For free. "Sing" (2016) Dir. Garth Jennings In this week's episode, Katie gets real regarding the problematic Max Landis and the importance of believing women. We also take a look at yet another smash hit from the French geniuses over at Illumination. There are so many animals and so many songs and so many things to unpack in this animated jukebox musical. We also spend an uncanny amount of time talking about Zootopia but that was never our intention.

"How to Talk to Girls at Parties" (2017) Dir. John Cameron Mitchell England. Punk rock. Science fiction. Sex. Need we say more? Venture into a strange world that is supposedly based on a short story by Neil Gaiman...supposedly. People are getting pegged. Aliens are wearing latex. There are more nipples than a mind can imagine.

This weekend, Brie Larson's Captain Marvel conquered the box office! But before she was in the MCU...before she was winning Oscars...she was trying to help save some burrowing howls from an evil Pancake House mogul (Clark Gregg / Agent Phil Coulson). Recently, the somber news had been reported that Ben Affleck was hanging up his cape and cowl and passing the hallowed mantle of the Caped Crusader on to the next lucky actor. With that in mind, Luke & Katie decide to take a look at back at Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon's "Justice League."
