The impact of the moment, however, is seriously undermined by a criminal political organization, the GOP, whose members regard the US Constitution and US laws as inapplicable to themselves. Republican determination to turn the effort to preserve the US Constitution into a theater of the absurd prevents the House from even forwarding the Articles of Impeachment to a criminal Senate masterminded by Moscow Mitch. How does America survive this? (Sorry, we don't answer that question, we just ask it.) Also, the latest on false equivalences from the paper of record show why saving America is so likely to be a losing proposition; we continue to reward criminals and liars by failing to note what they are, and how they are different from those who believe in rules, accountability...and truth. We commemorate the day Donald Trump single-handedly saved a US state from the Chinese. Then Dave turns serious...serious as a presidential impeachment, which is proceeding at a rapid pace. Bill Maher has a tremendously problematic "can't we all just get along?" moment, so Dave has a "can't we all just making stop false equivalences?" show. For good and for bad, the left continues to demonstrate why efforts to find equivalencies between a flawed political party and a criminal organization and its adherents are flawed and dangerous.   We discuss the vast differences between left and right in the way we treat ideas, education, the planet, and each other. Dave gets personal for a few minutes in discussing being a victim of vandalism. His personal property was destroyed by someone who was attacking socialists for...(wait for it!)...not respecting other people's property! Seriously. And we are supposed to treat these jackasses with respect?

In the midst of the overwhelming case for the impeachment of Donald Trump, and Republican talking points about a Democratic coup, we thought it would be a good idea to talk about some of the things that Democrats have chosen not to impeach Donald Trump for. Turns out, the many instances of misconduct that are not subjecting Trump to impeachment make a pretty overwhelming case as well. As the unprecedented scale of his misconduct numbs us to Trump's continuing misdeeds, it is good to be reminded of some of the myriad reasons we need to save ourselves from him...and his party! We review just some of his crimes, both common and extraordinary. Just some of the threats he poses to this country and to the entire planet. Just a sampling of the threats posed by Trump and his ilk to the future of our children.   And we consider anew that there is no equivalence between our two political parties.

Apparently filling the great need in our government for someone to pursue the interests of Wall Street billionaires. We think billionaires already have way too much power and this week's special episode is going to advance that argument. We do also address some of the big news of the week, which say a lot about how lucrative it is to be rich. California continues to burn with a primary assist from climate change, but a new report says that while many homeowners are being devastated, the rich are making out like bandits. Yes, we discuss the latest on impeachment. But first, we deal with some of the latest news.  Trump gets booed at the World Series in a victory for--sorry GOP--both free speech and democracy. ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead, an event worthy of celebration, and one which Trump is taking credit for, but actively undermined. A victory for democracy in a North Carolina state court ruling on democracy reminds us how large the war for democracy is. Finally, some reminders this week about our ruling class, as Boeing's CEO testifies in front of congress and says he feels bad about the 346 people he murdered...for more money.
