Ep. 235 - STAS - Blasts From The Past Part I
13/11/2022 Duração: 01h17minCome for the classic Superman: The Animated Series review, stay for the Emil Hamilton tan lore. That's right the tannest man in the DCAU is a hot topic of discussion once again as the Good Brothers review "Blasts From The Past Part I" on this week's episode. With such little STAS remaining, the hosts decide to give this two-parter a closer look by reviewing both episodes separately and providing a full episode score on next week's review of part 2. But this week the hosts still give their not-yet final scores for the same four categories, discussing the thin line between Superman being naive and being hopeful when it comes to trusting Mala in such a short amount of time. Plus how the DCAU handled the Phantom Zone versus how it was handled in the Donner Films, music from Kristopher Carter and a full break down of the voice cast await you on this week's all new DCAU Review! Ep. 234 - STAS - Bizarro's World
05/11/2022 Duração: 51minLots of chatter about the Man of Steel as of late may lead you to believe the Good Brothers planned to cover Superman: The Animated Series for the month of November just for that sweet, sweet social media engagement. However, it's all a coincidence as the hosts kick off a month's worth of Superman content with a review of the second chapter of the Bizarro trilogy with the aptly titled episode "Bizarro's World." Hear the hosts discuss a plot the meanders between comedy, tragedy and happenstance that pairs with visuals that struggle to be interesting due to the plot. Cal & Liam also discuss Tim Daly's double-duty as a naïve Bizarro and a kind and compassionate Superman and Lolita Ritmanis' score for the episode that features a few returning character themes. All of this, a preview of next week's episode and Cal reveals which episode DC President Jim Lee revealed to him as his favorite on this week's all new DCAU Review! Ep. 233 - Elseworlds - Batman The Brave and The Bold - Shadow Of The Bat!
29/10/2022 Duração: 01h14minAfter an extended celebration of Batman: The Animated Series 30th Anniversary, the Good Brothers take a trip around the multiverse for a spooky Elseworlds tale from Batman The Brave and The Bold entitled "Shadow of the Bat!" - Hear the hosts discuss the cold open that features "Bat-Ape" and an appropriately vampire-centric story with an infected Batman terrorizing the Justice League International. With visual fun of numerous manifestations of Batman's vampiric powers and music inspired by classic horror films, the hosts also draw parallels to the horror genre in the plot. Wrapping up the episode, Cal and Liam also discuss how Diedrich Bader's performance allows for a more sinister characterization of the Dark Knight. Plenty of more tidbits and items to discuss including some behind the scenes notes passed on from series Producer James Tucker and much more, as well as a preview of next week's all new episode on this week's all new DCAU Review! Ep. 232 - BTAS - The Underdwellers (Revisited)
22/10/2022 Duração: 01h09minIn what can only be described as a joke gone terribly wrong, the Good Brothers wrap up their month revisiting episodes covered in the early days of the podcast by honoring poll results that had listeners vote for a look back at "The Underdwellers." Will the hosts be able to find anything redeemable about an episode that finds itself among the lowest rank of all time? Does Batman fighting numerous crocodiles and a man dressed like a pirate with an army of children have anything redeemable for Cal & Liam to discuss? The answer to these questions may surprise you, but probably won't. However, the journey back through this legendarily bad episode is a ton of fun and honest critique.
