It's been over a month, and it's two days late, but I am finally back with a new episode! This last month has been one of the most challenging since I began pursuing my dream. That's why I haven't been as active on the podcast and the blog. In this episode, I sit down with Karin Wolfle, entrepreneur/artist behind The Shabby Attic in Lansdale, PA. Having left behind a career in the mental health field, Karin decided to pursue her love of fine arts by starting her own business. She soon realized that being an entrepreneur requires a little bit of “crazy,” and whole lot more elbow grease. While she admittedly (and candidly) has been through many trials personally and professionally, she hopes to use both her degrees in fine arts, and in psychology, to not only bring new life and purpose to old furniture, but by inspiring others with her story of overcoming adversity and making the most of second chances. I prefer to use the term Renaissance Man. Whether he’s posting videos of beard grooming tips, sharing random insights on father/son relationships and cigars, or simply enjoying a summer evening while listening to Sinatra, George is truly comfortable in his own skin. Back in the early days of the podcast, I had the privilege of interviewing several inspiring individuals who are trying to make a difference in their community as well as in the world of business. Over the next few weeks I wanted to share those conversations with you in case you hadn't had a chance to hear them. Over the course of the last 16 months, the podcast has evolved in ways I couldn't have anticipated, and in order to clearly communicate to the world what to expect when tuning in, I think it may be time for a change. There are many reasons why but mainly I'm asking for input from YOU, the listener. As for the topic of the episode, we discuss confronting and facing our flaws. For most of us, our biggest enemy is ourselves. Our limited knowledge and lack of confidence in our abilities are the go to excuses for why we don't make a real difference in our own life and the lives of those around us. But it's time to do battle with the enemy within by recognizing who we are and committing to expanding our worldview in order to see just how much we can do to help others. Today, is my son’s 9th birthday. Hard to believe that he has grown so quickly and that he has been in my life for that long. He is incredibly smart and kind and quirky and he has dope glasses. As many of you know, my dream is to one day work for Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster, PA. I’m pretty outspoken about it on the podcast actually. This past week I spent more time in the mall than I care to admit. No, I wasn’t doing Christmas shopping. Actually, I was turning the tables and making the mall work for me.
