Jesus triumphantly enters Jerusalem to the cheers of the crowd, but theres more to this story.

There are some passages in the bible which are quite confusing. The Parable of the Shrewd Manager is one of these. However, when we look beneath the surface, it has a very clear message, encouraging us to exchange that which is temporary for that which is eternal.

Jesus shared with those listening that the Kingdom is among us. Naturally as humans, we want to know times, dates etc. It allows us to manage our diaries well! But the Kingdom of God is a relational reality, not an event based moment in time. The implications for Jesus followers can be significant as we seek to steward all that the King has entrusted into our care for his glory in his Kingdom.

We all love a good story about 'lost and found'. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus shares his story of 'lost and found', the prodigal son. In telling this story, Jesus breaks through the confines of the story and invites his hearers to break through social, political and religious barriers and join him at the table, celebrating the lost being found.

When disasters occur, we interpret these events in various ways; sometimes poorly. In Luke 13, Jesus provides us with a framework to interpret calamity appropriately.

Luke 10 recounts Jesus mandate to his disciples, and by implication us, to represent the Kingdom of God in homes and places in which God is already involved. A simple strategy of praying and participating in the lives of people can bring the peace of God to their lives and situations.

Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem, even though it would cost him greatly. Where is your Jerusalem? Where do you need to 'resolutely' set out to? Even though heading to your Jerusalem will cost you, it is the path of life in all its fullness.

The devil is a defeated foe. He is not yet destroyed, and he is still inflicting casualties, but his time is running out. Some basic strategies to appropriate the victory that Jesus has won for us.

This time of year, there are many sources offering a 'new you'. The 'new you' that Jesus offers however, trumps them all. Do you want to be set free? Who do you need to set free this year?

tis the season to be making resolutions. But what is the motivation for our resolutions? Do they come from God, and help us to live life in all its fullness, or do they come from our own selfish desires. This year, let's not just make good resolutions, let's make God resolutions!

What does it mean to live a life that aims to emulate that of Jesus?

In the book of Acts there are two significant churches that 'do' church differently. One of them looks more like spring than the other. Being that 'springtime' church is a significant focus of Lake Community Church.

The city of Jerusalem was left in ruins when the defensive walls of the city were destroyed. The city was rededicated back to God and the people made a promise to obey. This story helps us to know the steps we can take to ensure a fortified life as we Value God's word, confess our sins and live a life determined to obey.

The true message of the Gospel is grounded in Faith in Christ. The Hope of heaven gives believers a confident assurance of the world to come, which overflows in acts of Love for others. Gospel trees need strong roots of faith and a hopeful view of heaven to bear the fruits of love.
