Happy Rosh Hashana! This past week has been another chaotic week in the UK with BREXIT as well as in Israel, with another round of elections ending in a similar place to where it started! Boris and Bibi have their hands full. As we approach a new year on the Jewish civil calendar, which is actually the start of the seventh month according to the Biblical calendar, it might feel like things are continuing with little change! But, when we step back a little and look at a longer period of time, it is amazing to see how actually events are really moving forward in line with the prophetic timeline!

For many years historians and archeologists have poured over writings, manuscripts, maps, and the like searching for the top secret source of the Phoenicians tin they brought into the eastern Mediterranean.  For the Bronze age to be the bronze age they needed a solid source of tin and the Phoenicians had the just the spot, only they didn't tell anyone.  Even the great historian Herodotus could not put his finger on it, but this week the lab results are in and we now have the confirmation so many have looked for.

As the UK Parliament returned to the business of Brexit on Monday, Prime minister Boris Johnson looks like he has lost control already. In this episode of the Bible in the news we review the week and remind ourselves of Bible prophecy in relation to Britain and the EU.

p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 11.0px Helvetica; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} span.s1 {font-kerning: none} The newsrooms around the world have not been quiet over the last few weeks.  This week the plot thickened in the United Kingdom with three ministers flying to meet the Queen to request a suspension of parliament, which was granted causing outrage and protests.  The impression however coming out of No.10 Downing Street is that they are serious about leaving on October 31st, with or without a deal.  The fight in the country is certainly far from over, but we do know from Bible Prophecy that Britain does not belong in Europe.  Whether it happens on October the 31st or not, Britain will leave Europe, even if she has to fight to get out.  That excitement is this week.  Last week however was also worth watching.

Britain’s rocky road to BREXIT has seen many twists and turns over the past few weeks as Boris Johnson has become Prime Minister and is shuttling back and forth to Europe to see if a deal can be made. There are many political intrigues going on, but what we can be confident about is what the scriptures predict… We don’t know how but we know that Britain must leave Europe.

This week we look at what and where are the "mountains of Israel", an expression we often read of in the book of Ezekiel. Why is this area singled out in prophecy, separate from the rest of the land of Israel?

Hello. Welcome to this weeks Bible in the News. Europe has a new president. Germany’s former defence minister, Ursula Von der Leyen, is the president elect of the European Commission and is set to become the most powerful person in the day-to-day affairs of the European Union. As always in this weeks episode, we look at this recent news in the light of Bible Prophecy.

The earthquake that rocked California this week reminded us that our whole environment can change so quickly and unexpectedly. There is something about our psyche that expects things to continue as we have always known them to be. Something that echos the words of 2 Peter 3:4 which says, "Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” Earthquakes are like that, even though humans may theoretically expect them, they don’t expect their worlds to be rocked and changed in the way they can be when these types of things happen. In an earthquake suddenly everything is moving, nothing is stable and everything is changing. We may theoretically expect the coming of Jesus Christ, but do we live that way everyday? Naturally we are more likely to think, “Where is the promise of his coming?” 

Iran has shot down a US drone, attacked six international oil tankers, shot rockets at the US Embassy in Iraq, and fired missiles at a Saudi International airport – all events which have lead to increased tensions and stinging sanctions. The sanctions are causing divisions between Europe and the USA – and the cementing alliances that are predicted in the prophecies of the Bible events come closer to gathering of the nations for Armageddon.

As Prime Minister Theresa May prepares to leave office, we examine how her vision for the future relationship between the UK and EU compares with Britain's future role, and the relationship that will exist between the UK and EU at the time of the end.

This week, American President, Donald Trump has been visiting the UK. We examine some of the highlights of the visit in the context of Bible Prophecy.

In a bizarre resolution in 2016, UNESCO, supposedly responsible for preserving cultural heritage, forbad archaeological digs in Jerusalem and denied Jewish (and Christian) connections to the Temple Mount.  Archaeological finds are continually being made that emphasize how outrageous this denial is. Tensions build in the Middle East between Iran and the Gulf States and the United States. The left wing Israeli Ha’aretz news site says, "Trump Cites Iran to Bypass Congress on Saudi Arms Sales”, "'An emergency requires the immediate sale' of weapons 'in order to deter further the malign influence of Iran,' Pompeo argues, invoking rarely used provision”. The news article says,

Canada is headed for an election and one of the issues that has risen to the top is the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The current Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is opposed, while up and coming leader of the Conservatives Andrew Scheer has made it part of his party policy.

Developing events in the Eastern Mediterranean are continuing to fulfill Bible prophecy in this weeks' news. Russian spies were found guilty of a Montenegro coup attempt, of trying to overthrow the government to prevent the country from joining NATO. Turkey has confirmed that it is going to move ahead with the purchase of Russian S-400 air defense systems, saying it's a "done deal." Also, Turkey has further stirred the pot announcing the intention to start exploring for gas off the coast of Cyprus. Israel, always in the news, has just celebrated its 71st Independence Day.
