Why do you HATE Black History Month?
07/02/2012 Duração: 03h00sThis some the things people are saying about Black History please read below. Morgan Freeman was recently criticized for declaring Black History Month ridiculous. While I'm probably at risk for having my Black card revoked, I must admit that I'm so glad someone finally said it. I hate Black History Month. Surprise! It's the one month out of the year when white people feel comfortable asking me all sorts of strange, inappropriate questions and treating me as if I'm the spokesperson for the black race. Perhaps I would feel differently if I had come of age during the civil rights movement. You know, before black people had stuff and we had to march for everything: desegregation, voting rights, seats on a bus. I would have had a closet full of dashikis and worn my hair in an afro. Occasionally, I'd have raised my fist high in the air -- a symbol of solidarity, and chanted "Uhuru," which I think means freedom in some African language. Instead I missed the whole civil rights thing by about 30 years and wa

what stimulates consicous thought ?
02/01/2012 Duração: 02h56minConsciousness is a term that refers to the relationship between the mind and the world with which it interacts.[1] It has been defined as: subjectivity, awareness, the ability to experience or to feel, wakefulness, having a sense of selfhood, and the executive control system of the mind.[2] Despite the difficulty in definition, many philosophers believe that there is a broadly shared underlying intuition about what consciousness is.[3] As Max Velmans and Susan Schneider wrote in The Blackwell Companion to Consciousness: "Anything that we are aware of at a given moment forms part of our consciousness, making conscious experience at once the most familiar and most mysterious aspect of our lives."[4]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! WELCOME 2012
01/01/2012 Duração: 02h06minNew Year's Day is observed on January 1, the first day of the year on the modern Gregorian calendar as well as the Julian calendar used in ancient Rome. With most countries using the Gregorian calendar as their main calendar, New Year's Day is the closest thing to being the world's only truly global public holiday, often celebrated with fireworks at the stroke of midnight as the new year starts. January 1 on the Julian calendar currently corresponds to January 14 on the Gregorian calendar, and it is on that date that followers of some of the Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate the New Year.

What are we really seeking out of life?
30/12/2011 Duração: 02h56minWhat is it that most of us are seeking? What is it that each one of us wants? Surely it is important to find out. Probably most of us are seeking some kind of happiness, some kind of peace; in a world that is ridden with turmoil, wars, contention, strife, we want a refuge where the can be some peace. I think that is what most of us want. So we pursue, go from one leader to another, from one religious organization to another, from one teacher to another. Now, is it that we are seeking happiness or is it that we are seeking gratification of some kind from which we h ope to derive happiness? There is a difference between happiness and gratification. Can you seek happiness? Perhaps you can find gratification but surely you cannot find happiness? Happiness is derivative: it is a by-product of something else. So, before we give our minds and hearts to something which demands a great deal of earnestness, attention, thought, care, we must find out, must we not?, what it is that we are seeking; whether it is happines

The Pathology Of White Privilige Does it Still Exist?
23/12/2011 Duração: 02h07minPathology is the precise study and diagnosis of disease. The word pathology is from Ancient Greekπ?θος, pathos, "feeling, suffering"; and -λογ?α, -logia, "the study of". Pathologization, to pathologize, refers to the process of defining a condition or behavior as pathological, e.g. pathological gambling. Pathologies is synonymous with diseases. The suffix "path" is used to indicate a disease, e.g. psychopath. Pathology addresses 4 components of disease: cause/etiology, mechanisms of development (pathogenesis), structural alterations of cells (morphologic changes), and the consequences of changes (clinical manifestations).[1] Pathology is further separated into divisions, based on either the system being studied (e.g. veterinary pathology and animal disease) or the focus of the examination (e.g. forensic pathology and determining the cause of death).
