Light Has Come. The conclusion of the Light Has Come series on Christmas Eve, 2015 as we reflect together on the news that the angels shared with the shepherds that special night.

Light Has Come: Week Two. An examination of our new identity as disciples, made possible by God sending His light into the world through His son, Jesus Christ. What might it look like to live out of that identity this holiday season?

Light Has Come: Week One. To begin this two week Advent series, we first take a look from a high level at who God is and what He has done. An understanding of this allows us to more fully reflect upon what the Advent season represents.

Ecclesia. The conclusion of the Ecclesia series asks the question, "What If?" in regard to what it might look like if we lived out our beliefs about who the Church is meant to be and what it would mean for the people in our city.

Ecclesia. In addition to being situated geographically, the Ecclesia were groups of people who were passionate about reaching specific groups of people. Using Paul's words in 1 Cor. 9:19-23, we see how a disciple lives so as to reach pockets of people with the Gospel.

Ecclesia. The Ecclesia were groups of people that were geographically seated (e.i. in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, ends of the earth... Galatia, Thessalonica. Rome, Colosse. etc...) This message challenges us to align our beliefs about who the church is and take action to live this out in the places we find ourselves (neighborhoods, workplaces, etc.)

Ecclesia. This message asks each of us to examine our current beliefs and experiences with the church. What happens when we compare those with what we see in Scripture? We see the Church not as an organization o a location but rather a collective identity and a movement. The church is not a what but a WHO.

Genesis 4:1-8. This message examines the importance of understanding and processing our emotions using the story of Cain and Abel from Genesis. In this story, we get to see God interject Himself into the conflict that Cain is dealing with, and in doing so, gives us some insight into how we might avoid falling into the same destructive pattern that Cain did.

Aroma. We conclude the aroma series with a call that echoes the words of Jesus in Luke 14...count the cost. Being the Aroma of Jesus will not always be easy, but it will be worth it. Following the story of some of Jesus' first disciples, this message examines what we are getting into when we follow Jesus into His mission, and why it's the best decision we could make for our lives.

Aroma. Paul does not speak of individuals as the Aroma of Christ, but rather WE together. As such, individual disciples need one another to remain encouraged to be the aroma of Jesus each and every day. This message examines some reasons we should encourage one another, as well as some obstacles that keep us from encouraging others.

Aroma. Paul ends this section of II Corinthians with the question, "Who is sufficient for these things?" This message examines that question...who is sufficient to spread the aroma of the knowledge of Jesus everywhere?

Aroma. In Matthew 16, Jesus asked his disciples a defining question, centered around his identity. All followers of Jesus must be able to answer this question and understand its significance.

Aroma. What can we expect as God works to spread the aroma of Christ through us? In this message we address the who and the when questions of missional living.

Much of the Biblical account comes to us in the form of narrative. Story plays an important part of our lives, and how we read the stories of Scripture is very important. Using the story of Jonah, this message examines some questions we should ask whenever we encounter stories in God's Word.

Faith Under Pressure. The conclusion to our summer series on the book of James. Pastor Josh highlights a couple key themes and then the entire letter of James is read aloud, with help from Ryan Underwood and Nate Stewart.

Faith Under Pressure. James 5:13-18. This passage identifies three groups of people who are in need of prayer, and the appropriate response of each group. We also see two responses that apply to all kinds of people.

Faith Under Pressure. James 5:12-17. When your faith is under pressure your patience will tend to be also. This message talks about what we need to be and become more patient when life's pressures intensify.

Faith Under Pressure: James 5:1-6. In this section of the text, James addresses a group of people that he identifies as "the rich". Who were they and how are we to understand the case he makes against their way of living in these verses? What are we to take away from this text as we seek to apply it to our lives today in terms of how we interact with money and possessions?

Faith Under Pressure: James 4:13-17. What does it look like to plan for the future in a way that both considers and honors God? As we look at how James addressed those who were making plans under pressure, we find that the answer has a lot to do with our perspective.

Faith Under Pressure: James 4:1-12. Relational problems are not difficult to find or experience. These problems are however a symptom of another problem, one that may come as a bit of a surprise. In this message we learn what that problem is, how God's responds to it and what we are challenged to do about it.
