The Gospel Is. The Gospel Does. Galatians 4:1-7. This message talks about why God has a big, big house. It's not because he owns everything but because he filed for adoption and gives us all the rights and privileges of sons and daughters.

In this section of Galatians, Paul has been tracing the story of God's salvation all the way back to the promise made to Abraham, and has shown how that promise found its ultimate fulfillment in Christ. In this section of the text, he addresses the natural question that would come from his elevation of the promise...why then did God give the law to Moses, and what role does it play in salvation? Paul asserts that the law was never meant to bring about the promise of salvation, rather it was given to convince people of their need for it. He gives three word pictures to help us understand the role that the law played in the life of the people of Israel.
