On this edition of Pagan-Musings, KaliSara and RevKess have an open forum discussion with a focus on community. In this episode you will her about what it can take to form a community, what it's like to work in the community, updates on some community events and news from the global Pagan community. This week Corwin and Phil are joined by David Csontos, Lincoln based playwright and director. He joins them around the 30 minute mark to talk about independent gay theatre in the Lincoln, NE area.

Continuing with the Story Time series, RevKess has gotten permission from a recent guest on Murphy's Magic Mess to upload her Winter Tale. Halldora Gudnisdottir is the winner of the 2013 Bardic Competition for the Barony of Mag Mor's Yule Court in 2013. This is a Nordic-ization of a story from her childhood. It is based on true events, just put into the style of a Nordic tale. Halldora joined the Mess on Sunday 9 February 2013 to share her tale. The Mess airs live on KZUM every Sunday at 9am. Brining to the listener nearly 20 years of Pagan radio content, the world's longest running Pagan radio show.

Continuing with stories, RevKess relates a tale of Brighid. Originally written by Literata Hurley, this story tells of the three gifts of Brighid. RevKess recorded this for airing on Murphy's Magic Mess on Brighid's Day 2014. All music included in this story is by Celia, the ending song was written by Selena Fox and recorded by Celia and Selena in 2013.

RevKess has started a new hobby - sort of. Recording stories. Many will be original content, written by RevKess. Some will be taken,m with permission, from other authors. Often he will include a pieceof music related to the story. This is the first of those stories.It is a story of Ganesha and his brother Karthik. In this story you will learn how Ganesha was named the wisest of the Hindu deities. This story is adapted from a children's site.

Shauna Aura Knight joins RevKess and KaliSara to continue their conversation on Pagan leadership. They will dive deeper in the ethics, skills sets and psychology/sociology of Pagan leadership.

We sometimes take our topic inspirations from odd places. Shauna Aura Knight's blog isn't al that odd, but the reblogged article she shared early in January might at least seem that way. Are You a Highly Sensitive Person? She shares some very personal aspects of her own hypersensitivity in the following post and also shares how the information may be valuable to people and to leaders. KaliSara and RevKess explore that topic in this edition. Shauna may join them for part or all of the discussion. Once again Shauna Aura Knight joins RevKess and KaliSara. This time to talk specifically about leadership in the Pagan community. Thanks in part to a blog article on Radical Wind and the continued off the wall commentary from (in)famous Pagans like Z Budapest, this is a discussion that has been resurfacing for three years or more in the Pagan global community. For our first episode of 2014, RevKess and KaliSara are doing an anything goes type show. What they'll talk about is anyone's guess until it happens. Starting out 2014, Corwin and Phil talk about religion, politics, sports and health on the 149th edition of Lavender Hill. Airing live on KZUM on 5 January 2014, this edition of LavHill talks religion, politics, sports and health. Everything from a recent book that talks about LGBTQ issues in Protestant Christianity to marriage equality issues around the globe to sports stars who are gay or allied to falsified medical findings.

2013 has been an eventful year both for the Pagan acommunity and the world as a whole. Join KaliSara and RevKess as they review some of the highlights for 2013. A focus will be given to the Pagan community with some talk of how things have changed in the rest of the world. From blogging and publishing to music and entertainment, from honey bees and GMOs to marriage equality and the legal status of Pagan "churches". Later in the show, the hosts will talk about some of what they see coming in 2014 as well as plans and projects coming to fruition for them.

This episode originally aired live on Sunday 29 December 2013 on KZUM in Lincoln, NE. Phil went solo for the show as Corwin was having car trouble. The lead story was the front page of the Lincoln Journal Star and their 20 year follow-up on the Brandon Teena murder. Phil followed that up with coverage of the Boy Scouts of America and their new policy allowing for openly gay Scouts and troop leaders that went into effect on January 1, 2014. Other stories were covered as well. Twenty years ago Brandon Teena and two of his friends were murdered in a house outside of Humbolt, NE. The murder had a personal element to it for Phil. He had family in Humbolt at the time, worked with Brandon's sister and was discovering what the Nebraska atmosphere for the LGBTQ population was like at the time. Twenty years later and things are only slightly better. Listen to the episode to hear more and learn about some of the other issues that Phil talked about during his first solo edition of Lavender Hill.

In this edition of the Pagan Weekly News RevKess brings you some holiday news and talks about a couple of wonderful books that are available to the Pagan community. An anthology about our spiritual ancestors and an anthology on being Pagan with disabilities. Later in the show he talks about x-ray technology being used to read ancient scrolls, the Pope and Duck Dynasty. Zaracon was unavailable for this edition. RevKess & Kalisara will discuss a new thesis on how cooking food is responsible for making us modern humans. We strayed from the topic of the show, but spent nearly three hours talking with Lupa about her projects, her books, her personal spiritual beliefs. Kari Tauring is a völva, staff carrier of Nordic tradition. Völva (Old Norse): a woman who carries the staff, the history, magic, and cultural legacy of the Nordic people.  In 2010, Kari  was elected to represent the Midwest as völva at the Midwest Thing, recognized for her scholarship and ability to share the deep roots of the culture through songs, stories, and teaching. Her Volva Stav training program teaches this method of cultural expression internationally through on-line resources. On this show, she will share with us her knowledge and understanding of spå, a type of Nordic magic. The Norse traditions view magic differently then many Pagan and Wiccan traditions, so we will be talking about those differences, as well.
