When Jesus taught, he often spoke in parables – short stories which were intended to answer important questions that people asked Him: What is God really like? How are we meant to live? Why do we struggle in doing the right thing? What will life be like in the life to come? How is God at work in our world today? Through these parables Jesus sought to reveal the truths of the Kingdom of God and to teach us the meaning of life. At times, though, His stories seemed to bring more confusion than clarity. In this teaching series we will seek to understand Jesus’ teaching in the parables and also understand why He often seemed as comfortable raising questions as answering them.

During Lent three years ago, we walked through the final week of Jesus’ life before the Cross. This year we want to focus in even more. In this teaching series we will walk through the last twenty-four hours of Jesus’ life, that we might understand the significance of Jesus suffering and death in a way we never have before. Some of the most beautiful verses in all of literature are found in the Bible. Millions upon millions look to it for inspiration and guidance. At the same time, some parts are confusing and others can even be disturbing.
