During the four weeks of Advent, we will join with followers of Christ around the world in remembering the first Advent of Jesus in Bethlehem, and in preparing for the second Advent – the second "coming" - of Jesus Christ. The book of Revelation might initially seem to be an odd section of Scripture to study during Advent, but it provides profound guidance and encouragement to us as we look to that Second Advent, when Jesus comes again. Almost everybody today has something to say about Jesus. The perspectives, not surprisingly, can be quite divergent. So who is this Jesus? Within the writings of the book of Revelation we will see the exaltation of the one who was the Instrumental Cause of Creation, who sits over all of history, who overcomes the enemy and the darkness, who calls us each to live out His new kingdom, who will be the Final Judge, and who is the Redeemer of all the Universe: the Incomparable Christ.
