Today on Video Marketing Madness - Optimizing Your YouTube Channel for greater results. YouTube Channel Optimization -The YouTube channel art and icon are essential. If you don’t have them, you won’t get all the tools and be able to verify your channel. Canva is a free tool for doing channel art. -Add sections on the home page. Typically they are playlists you have created. Include citations in the playlists. -Fill out the “About” section and include a citation. Add an email address and links: website, Facebook, GMB, LinkedIn, appointment link, etc. -Come up with a channel name that describes what you do -Phone verify the channel -In the creator studio, go to “Settings” and enable everything like custom thumbnails, YouTube Live, and the branding watermark. Today on Video Marketing Madness – Lighting for Videos. Ray has all kinds of tips lighting tips for in-studio and in the field. Most folks are shooting vids on their iPhone. It has great digital quality, but it also has a small aperture. So, you need good lighting. Outdoors, the sun is all you need. But don’t shoot with the sun behind the talent. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to shoot. Indoors, the ambient florescent lighting in offices is probably good enough, but your video will look flat and you’ll have some color balance issues. It’s best to bring your own lighting. Movo has some good, portable LED lights. For talking head videos, ring lights are good. In-studio, you want three-point lighting: fill, key and backlight and you might want to add a fourth light for the background. For instance, if you reserve a room, they donate a portion of the proceeds to a charity. They have a can drive every Wednesday, and they do Toys for Tots every Christmas. It’s about the charities first, but it’s also a lot of exposure. -Ray reaches out to local businesses and offer free tickets to give to employees of the month. The winners always bring friends. -Ray does a shout out to local businesses on the escape room’s social media. For instance, Ray gave a shout out to a nearby restaurant where he had lunch. -He reaches out to local businesses he has a relationship with and offers to trade stuff -Contact relators and see if you can get into their welcome bags. Ray gives out free passes. -Talk to local motels and ask to place “where to go” materials -Reach out to local business Facebook Groups -Go to Rotary, etc. T
