Demystifying the Trinity - Part 2
05/02/2025 Duração: 40minDo you ever feel like our affirmation of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is hard to grasp? Confusing? Maybe not even necessary? St. George’s former Senior Associate Rector and author Tim Jones has explored such questions for decades. He has made some exciting discoveries about how much difference this ancient Christian belief can make, bringing to our praying a new vitality. And how it answers our deepest questions about our being loved. Guest teacher the Rev. Timothy Jones joined us for this 3-part teaching in January 2025.

Margery Kennelly: It's About the Blessing
17/10/2022 Duração: 15minThe thing is, prayer doesn't have to be perfect to be effective. In fact, a prayer muttered with all our fears and short-sighted demands — and even selfish requests — affects life powerfully. Sermon from the 8:45am service on 10/16/22.

Martin Odidi: Persistent Prayer of Faith
17/10/2022 Duração: 17minLuke 18:1-8 Prayer is like a walking exercise. It is a spiritual exercise. The more you pray daily, the stronger you become. Persistent praying in faith on a particular subject produces an eventual expected result — just like the persistent widow in the gospel reading. Prayer is simply talking to God like a child would with his parents. Pray in a simple, innocent, and honest way. Not doubtful, but persistent, until the expected result is achieved, or until you are appeased appropriately. This is how our prayer relationship with God is supposed to be. Sermon from The Table on 10/16/22.

Malone Gilliam: Broken Dreams, Anger, and Sorrow: Where Can I Go?
03/10/2022 Duração: 15minSequence Hymn • 671 Amazing grace! how sweet the sound Psalm 137 1 By the waters of Babylon we sat down and wept, * when we remembered you, O Zion. 2 As for our harps, we hung them up * on the trees in the midst of that land. 3 For those who led us away captive asked us for a song, and our oppressors called for mirth: * "Sing us one of the songs of Zion." 4 How shall we sing the Lord's song * upon an alien soil. 5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, * let my right hand forget its skill. 6 Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, * if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy. 7 Remember the day of Jerusalem, O Lord, against the people of Edom, * who said, "Down with it! down with it! even to the ground!" 8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, * happy the one who pays you back for what you have done to us! 9 Happy shall he be who takes your little ones, * and dashes them against the rock!
