Ahoy good mense, We have with us on this very special sessions, DJ extraordinaire from JHB, Unscene. Here are a few elaborate words from the maestro himself. “I’m based in JHB, South Africa. I first DJed in 2001. The name relates to my passion for diversity. I am a student of the dub mixing style which features across many forms of music. I’m a thinker and a listener. I see the potential of music to offer perspective. This podcast came about at the last minute after months of dub delay. As it was a home recording it’s not all for the floor, and it’s not all deep but book me and we can arrange this. I recorded many hours – it’s imperfect. Just like a maths exam I might get basic equations wrong but ace the bigger picture question. I employ harmonic mixing, aesthetic and thematic analysis, and focus more on groove and feel than the basics which is why 2s might land on 1s.
