Transfer College: The Kcrw Fancast

Sharon and Chris recap their Pie Contest experience, the spring pledge drive. Chris has a change of heart about Press Play and reveals a show he hates and Sharon reveals her true feelings about Paul Simon. Plus our fav DJ sets and of course Roseanne Barr.

Chris entered the KCRW Pie Contest in the custard category. Sharon ran audio for the day to document their experience. They got into two fights on the way to the contest, Sharon offended some pie competitors by wishing them luck only if they weren't in the custard category, Chris was on Whole 30 so he couldn't eat pie, their friend Emily got real catty when looking at the competing pies--- it was a DAY. Chris makes an announcement about a KCRW event that he's participating in. We'll be recording at that event and giving out Transfer College Swag! In this episode, we recap Good Food, Sharon rants about Press Play, Anne Litt's 2/22 WBE show gets Chris' vote for best DJ set and Sharon's pick is Garth Trinidad's set from 2/16. We also shout out our favorite new KCRW podcast, "Lost Notes." 

Sharon and Chris love KCRW and the music KCRW plays. They talk about their love of Rhye, Sharon's upset that she has to listen to Fresh Air on either KPCC or as a podcast because KCRW stopped licensing it, and Sharon and Chris go deep about DNA.

Sharon and Chris are crazy for public radio programming, specifically KCRW in Southern California. In this first episode, Sharon and Chris share why they love KCRW so much, why they listen to it non-stop, and Chris shares the history of KCRW. That's where Chris explains how we came up with the name of the podcast. Then they talk about some of the shows they'll be covering and the segments they'll be doing on the pod. Lastly, just like KCRW broadcasts Santa Monica City Hall meetings, Sharon and Chris have a Transfer College City Hall Meeting, where for 1 minute they air their grievances about something they heard on KCRW that week.
