We can spend our entire lifetime repeating the pattern of good intentions and plans being diverted due to our distractions and getting sidetracked by things that don't make any difference.

Today we talk about something critically important to everyone on the face of the earth and I will explain as I share. Years ago I was reading the Left Behind Series of books written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B Jenkins. I had never been an avid reader and I was amazed at how this series had immediately captured and held my attention that it had me looking forward to reading more daily so much so that I read not only the first book in the series, but I think it was the first 5 or 6 books in the series. Remember the children's rhyme from when you were a kid "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me"?   My mom had shared it with me when I was young and I remember that it was my bullet proof vest if you will. How do we overcome the feeling that our prayers are not being answered because we are losing hope that the darkness in our lives will ever get any better because we don't yet see any change to our situations? I'm speaking this into my own life and it's darkness today as I'm feeling overwhelmed today and I too, am searching for answers to my prayers. God has already planned good things for us, but for some reason we aren't seeing them materialize in our lives and we get disappointed. Negative thinking leads to negative actions and we end up we digging ourselves into an even deeper mess leading to even more discouragement, more frustration, and never finding our treasures in life because we're buried under bad thinking and bad choices and the end results of this - I'll call our garbage.   When I first started reading the Bible I would get frustrated because I couldn't understand a lot of what I was reading. Partly due to the fact I use a King James Version of the Bible because I believe it to be one of the more accurate English translations however it can at times be difficult to understand because of the older style language used in it. Also, I was trying to read the bible out of guilt, to be honest. You know what I mean, you know you need to, you know there are answers there, your pastor keeps encouraging you to, but you fight it because it's not easy? But if we're honest with ourselves most of the time we just don't apply the effort, do we?   Scripture Reference: 2 Timothy 3:16-17
