Beanstalk - Travel Podcast

Hello all!  Thanks for joining us, and welcome to the BeansTalk - Travel Podcast. We are home at last, and this episode documents the long journey getting us here. It started at the beginning of February in Thailand, then on to Prague, with ending our journey in London. Meeting up with old friends, enjoying some impromptu tattoo appointments, and getting pretty tired of hostel-life, we finally made it home to little old Boise, Idaho. We'll update you on what we've been doing since back, how the transition is going, and what plans we have for the future. Enjoy! We will be posting past-casts from here on out for a while. The Beans are back in Bangkok and dishing out another past cast in the park! Having recently left the cooler temps of Hanoi, Vietnam, the Beans are trying to get used to the warmer temps and humidity of Bangkok, while still attempting to shake recent head colds acquired in Vietnam. This episode rehashes their first experience touching down in Cambodia, still accompanied by M&M. It’s all about first impressions, time spent visiting the massive jungle temple complex of Angkor Wat, and some unpleasant realizations of a wallet gone missing. There’s a lot of distractions as usual recording in a popular public park, including monitor lizards, annoying tourists, and local birds. Thanks again so very much for tuning in and listening! The Beans are still in Vietnam and have recently finished up with Whits root canal appointments (finally!!). They go over some big ideas for their future, as well as the recent happenings since the last episode. With a lot of downtime in Hanoi, it’s making for exciting times organizing the plans just ahead of them, and for this upcoming year. In this past-cast episode, the Beans, along with M&M, make their way by plane to the northern Thailand city of Chiang Mai. This week's podcast gets a bit on the giggly side, so prepare for the laughs. WARNING: Almost peed myself a couple times while editing.  We made it to Hoi An (not to be confused with Hanoi), and are enjoying all the sights, sounds, and fresh air...besides the farts. We got lucky again with being able to experience another lantern festival and enjoyed taking lots of photos in this city's old town, some of those photos were candid.  Bicycle rides, western markets, bull's balls, interesting roadkill, and talking about tourists. This episode the Beans actually touchback on their original long distance trip and leave where they last left off. . . Koh Phi Phi, Thailand, following their wild story from monkey beach! While amidst a very bustling trip to the lake in Hanoi, where there are plenty of distractions, they try desperately to complete this story and keep it together. Rats, Duck-Dogs, men fishing, and more park-aerobics, all make for a very eventful and hilarious episode. They conclude their visit to Koh Phi Phi, and team back up with M&M, to spend a couple amazing days on the island of Koh Lanta. Our Beans try catching up on some things we may or may not have forgotten to talk about. What we've been enjoying about this visit to Bangkok, food and more wandering around. Seeing this city with a new openminded perspective, and enjoying not having expectations while traveling. The park starts getting a little bit crazy after hours and makes you feel as if you are along to experience the wonderful chaotic energy that comes along with traveling to South East Asia. Obviously sleep deprived, caffeine deficient, and in need of a proper night's rest, our two Bean's catch you up on how exhausting overseas travel can be. We swear we will be more awake in the next episode.

Witamy to Poland!!  We get a bit delirious in this late night episode as we start getting obviously tired, while knowing well that our early-A.F. flight to Budapest is just hours away. While giggling a lot we discuss our time in Kraków eating our boredom away, and playing loads of pinball while keeping it real chill. Wrocław was a brand new city to us, and we had loads of fun exploring it and encountering various "Gnomies" hiding throughout the city. Meeting a nice Slovenian, and never experiencing a bad meal were just some of what made our visit to Wrocław so memorable. Last city in Poland was Warsaw, and it treated us with the craziest night of all. Ania, another Camiga, was nice enough to come meet up with us, and introduced us to several of her buddies who took us out on the town to show us how to party in true "Polish-Wedding-Party" fashion. You might laugh a little while listening to this episode, we sure did while recording it. Thanks so much for listening!

After a bit of a social media hiatus, the Beans are back with another episode, highlighting the recent events of their travels throughout Europe. Feeling a bit spoiled, with seemingly non stop time with various family and/or friends along the way, our traveling duo wanted to soak up as much quality time as possible with the loved ones that joined them on the travel trail. We are back!! Exhausted and reflecting Back on our Camino journey, we sit in Santiago Cathedral's bustling plaza and let you know what we've been going through, and a little bit about where we are heading next.  Sorry it's been a bit, but listening to this will clue you in on a little bit of why we had taken our brief hiatus. We get just a bit crazy in this podcast as we recap the last week and a half of walking the Camino del Norte. From Güemes to Muros de Nalón, we cover highlights of staying in Pendueles, and finally meeting our Camigo Family. As we avoid sleep, as well as falling apples, listen to these two Beans as they recap "where they are at, and what they are doing". We love and miss you all, and will be back with another a.s.a.p.

We are in much better spirits today, after having checked into an amazing albergue. We were fed, we washed, have had the whole afternoon to relax, have amazing wifi, and are so pleased that our bodies are finally getting used to walking all day everyday. Today we completed day 12, only 25 or so more to go. Whoop!! Whoop!!

As you can tell by this recording we are extremely tired, and need sleep. That is what we will do now. Talk to you soon when we are not so sleepy.

This week is a shorter episode, as the Beans are in their final days of preparing for their next adventure and leaving the country long term once again.
