Walking with Christ begins with and is marked by a life of love. Love for God and love for others is the evidence of passing from death to life.

The things that we allow to influence us affect how we live, causing us to either reflect the nature of God or the nature of the devil. Our identity as children of God helps us to walk in obedience and love.

The importance of the Virgin Birth is that it communicates two things:

Jesus came at Christmas to free us from sin and give us new life. As His children, we abide in Him daily by fighting sin and living in the new identity He's given us.

Our confidence comes from our identity in Christ. He is coming back, so as we wait, we are called to be purified, live with childlike faith, and have eternal hope.

We live in a world filled with voices - some true, many false. We must remain grounded in Christ, relying on the Holy Spirit for discernment, so we aren't fed astray when tests come.

John warns believers against a destructive love - an affection for the world's values that compete with and replace their love for God. These competing loves cannot coexist.

True assurance in Christ changes everything - we know we are forgiven, known by God, and victorious in Him. We can follow Him with confidence to wherever He leads.

Loving one another drives out the darkness and helps us walk in the light.

I want to know Jesus. I want to know Him more. I want others to know me. If you get to know me, will you end up knowing more about Jesus?

When we agree with God about the nature of our sin, He forgives and purifies us, bringing us back into right relationship with Him and others.

John's concern is that we have true fellowship Jesus.

The message we proclaim is rooted in relationship with Jesus, our Savior who we abide in deep fellowship with. Our fellowship with Him leads to fellowship with one another so they experience His joy as well.
