Gus was talking with a love skeptic. That particular skeptic thinks love is just people pursuing their self interest. Gus is at first at a loss as to how to respond but comes around fairly shortly. Take 7 minutes or so to hear where Gus comes down on the question.

We are told that getting old transitions us into our Golden Years. Maybe all that happens is that we get old. That is what it is but may not be the life upgrade that "Golden" implies.

Gus seems to be struggling some with putting together an episode of Audio Tidbits. Fortunately, Mark is there to help out and Karen comes through with an actual episode. She knows the 12 questions to ask before taking on any important change. Check it out. The questions are enough to get any of us thinking.

Most people who can't see, or perhaps have a different handicap, have been told that they are inspirational or maybe amazing. Is it true or is it magic? Let's talk about that.

You may think that I'm just whining about getting old, but that's not all of it. It's a supply and demand issue. Sure, it's economics. Don't judge without listening.

I was still obsessing about those discussions where an impasse is certain. You have your facts and I have mine and never the twain shall meet. That lead me to thinking about what is a fact and how do we deal with each other's facts? I must say that the conclusion surprised me some. You are probably not surprised that Gus slipped in an episode of Audio Tidbits on us. I don't think he knows yet that I know about the last episode that he slipped in. At least he sent this one to me before just posting it. Who knows that Gus is a philosopher. He has a fun take on the everlasting success that's there for all of us. Hey Tidbitters, Welcome to Audio Tidbits. It's Gus here, taking a turn at hosting the podcast. Gary doesn't have time right now to record an episode for you, so I have slipped behind the microphone to give it a try. Ok, that's not quite right. Actually, it's not even close to not right. I didn't tell Gary that I was highjacking his microphone and recording this episode. What do you think? Just how annoyed with me do you think he's going to be when he finds out what I've done? It's kind of that old thing where sometimes foregiveness is easier to come by than permission, not that I've tried the permission route. Maybe I'll try that next time, if there is a next time. I for sure hope that there will be a next time. Since it's too soon to start worrying about the next time, I best get on with this time. …

I have a new co-host. He's Gus from Sweden. He wasn't missing. It's just that I never knew he was anywhere. How we made a connection is a long story, but the short version is that he wasn't and now he is, here for all to enjoy. I hope you give him a hardy Tidbitter's welcome.

What if the witch in the box is you or at least indistinguishable from you?

Do you ever get the opportunity to make a pitch to someone? The fact is that nearly everyone has a chance to make a pitch to someone fairly often. It's how we get others to cooperate, to do something that they would likely not do were it not for our pitch. We might be pitching a family member, a business associate, a potential customer, or a total stranger. But pitch we do. So what is the perfect pitch? Up front, it's not whether the other person does what we want him or her to do. If not that, then what?

There is a point here. Do you see it? Sure, one step is better than no steps. I guess it's sort of like the key to consistent exercise.

From the time I was little, I was told that vanity is a bad thing and one to be avoided or at least hidden. If people see your vanity, they won't like you as much as if you come across as humble. Sure, it's just another one of those things that I was taught that is quite simply not true. We call that childhood baggage.

Oh well, it's a shame but it's just one of those things.
