Following up their Phantasy debut with the wide-eyed and wistful ‘A Few Good Days’ EP in 2025, FAFF return to the fold with a much-anticipated mix that trips masterfully through their myriad influences, from offbeat techno and experiments in chug, UK hardcore, sizzling acid and dreamy electronica. Beginning with a deep cut from Leftfield and quickly shifting on to encompass the likes of Will Hofbeaur, ddwy and Miles j paralysis, FAFF continue to document the pressures and peculiarities of the London dance scene, via their sister party and label, Forever. Public Display of Affection consists of Jonah Considine and Tam Tam, the core DJs, residents and organisers of Berlin soiree PDA, whose truly underground and headturning parties in the city act as a celebration of alternative dance culture. As a member of W.H. Lung, Tom Sharkett has provided electronics for one of the best bands in the UK, including on their most recent, critically acclaimed LP, ‘Every Inch of Earth Pulsates’. These DIY, indie-oriented experimentations have slowly led Sharkett to unexpected places as a solo artist in club culture, via the portal of Manchester’s legendary venue, The White Hotel, where he was inspired by inspired by cult nights such as Red Lazer and Wet Play, Sharkett has since collaborated with artists such as System Olympia and Raf Rundell, as well as appearing on Optimo Music and Okay Nature Records. His subtle, spirited edit of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Home’, released as a bootleg in early 2025, has recently re-emerged on DFA Records as an official release, just in time to become an unusual wistful summer anthem. Phantasy’s long-running mix series continues apace with a contribution from a key figure in London’s electronic and alternative underground, Casper Clark. Perhaps best known under his former Volte-Face alias, this wide-ranging hour finds Clark reigniting his fundamentally eclectic sensibility, seamlessly blending records from Black Merlin, Idjut Boys and The Parallax Corporation, spanning twenty-five years of music at the authentic margins. The first edition of PHANTASYMIX in 2025 arrives courtesy of London’s much-loved Ariane V, a DJ and radio host who represents a new vanguard of generous selectors with an audible appreciation for dance music with depth and character. Beginning with a three-year stint building her taste and record collection from behind the counter at Phonica Records, Ariane’s knowledge and instincts for a great record have only deepened in the decade since. as exemplified not only by a tour schedule that has taken from London to Paris, Berlin and Barcelona, but weekly to Peckham, where her previous residency for Balaami FM saw her sharing the decks and the mic in conversation with DJs including Wallace, Colleen Cosmo Murphy, Mr. Ho and Moxie. PHANTASYMIX returns with a fresh contribution from enigmatic producer Kiaki. Inspired by the ethos of our own Daniel Avery, alongside Aphex Twin and Detroit pioneers Drexciya, Kiaki specializes in deep, slow-mo, e-motional house and techno as well, punctured by the attitude and influences such as the gold-plated era of early 00s hip-hop. Having released on Man Power’s prolific, instinctive imprint Me Me Me and after fronting shows on Rinse and WWFM, Kiaki’s eclectic and thoughtful mix for Phantasy offers a journey from Kraftwerk through to Trikk, seamlessly linking Diana Ross and Acid Arab. Kiaki’s mix for Phantasy is now streaming on Apple Music and Mixcloud.

Already residents on Worldwide FM and one of Mixmag’s Breakthrough DJs of The Year in 2021, it’s a delight to welcome Dar Disku to Phantasy for a contribution to the #PHANTASYMIX series, eighty-three glorious minutes awash in the diverse, psychedelic fervor we can’t get enough, ranging from upfront, festival-ready disco to offbeat polyrhythms and boisterous folk mutations. Equally insightful and unpredictable, Dar Disku’s mix is a musical trip that keeps on giving.

This International Women’s Day, spend an hour deep in the passionate, versatile selections of Jay Carder. There are numerous sides to Jay Carder that demonstrate a DJ, promoter and radio host truly at ease with their own taste. Describing her selections as a “concoction of heavier, leftfield bass and lighter, psychedelic techno”, this is the sort of vibe that Carder delivers for her contribution to Phantasy’s mix series. For this bumping and classy hour, Carder connects her alignment with a resurgent UK underground transforming a legacy of garage and breaks - recent appearances on the decks have placed her alongside K-Lone and the Dr. Banana crew - with a trippy house aesthetic that’s more than familiar to Phantasy, just as Carder is to us. Ambient Babestation Meltdown, otherwise known as Rachael Williams, is a true character. Her sets gravitate towards records old and new that pulse with energy, irony and intelligence, a sort of thinking-person’s party DJ, yet far less annoying than that might sound. As one half of DiASKi, alongside Joe Brooke-Smith, she produces sci-fi tinted trippers that will soon emerge on a debut record from DBA, and recently provided some different dystopian flavours to the newly maskless masses at Gala Festival. Having already released on underground labels such as Livity Sound and Trule, Bakongo has made a serious impact over the past year or two, capturing the ears of dancers and collectors even without the benefit of a sub-heavy dancefloor to showcase his productions, which blend elements of “techno, garage, dub and broken beats’, spun and reinterpreted with understanding and imagination. Better known as Roska, in a recent, wide-ranging interview with Beatport, Goodlitt pondered “What happens to funky the other nine months of the year when there’s no sun shining?”.
