On tonight’s edition of “Powering Michigan’s Future” we’ll discuss the Habitat Detroit build up project happening this week with Dan Garan of Habitat Detroit, talk about Play Place for Autistic Children with Art Ashley, Chairman of NECA Contractor, Ferndale Electric and Founder, Shell Jones. We’ll also visit with Pat Devlin, Secretary/Treasurer of the Michigan Building & Construction Trades Council, Michael Richard, Business Manager/Financial Secretary of IBEW Local 58 on the recent AFL-CIO Housing Trust investment in the City of Detroit. - 8/10/16

We also will be discussing the region’s construction outlook and job opportunities and explore programs designed to support returning Veterans.

On tonight’s edition of “Powering Michigan’s Future” we’ll discuss House Bill 4813 which makes major changes to Michigan’s regulatory framework regarding electrical work with Michael Richard, Business Manager of IBEW Local 58, Tom Mittelbrun, Executive Director of the National Electrical Contractors Association of Southeastern Michigan and Pat Devlin, head of the Michigan Building and Construction Trades Council…we’ll also learn about a new program for returning Veterans called E-Start which offers pre-apprenticeship opportunities for Vets with Gary Polulak, Training Director of the Detroit Electrical Industry Training Center and be later, be joined by Brad Hewitt, Veteran and Electrical Apprentice and learn more about the trade has changed his life.

On tonight’s edition of “Powering Michigan’s Future” we’ll discuss an upcoming technology event called “Manufacturing in America” being held later this month at Ford Field with Jay Fuhr of Electro-Matic, learn about an effort to support area Veterans with Mike Conflitti of IBEW Local 58 and learn how Property Assessed Clean Energy or PACE financing can help business owners upgrade their buildings with no out of pocket cost with Andy Levin, Founder of Lean & Green MI.

On tonight’s edition of “Powering Michigan’s Future” we’ll discuss the integration of technology in buildings and how smart buildings can save money and help run a more efficient business with Jerry Eden, CEO of Synergy Systems Solutions and Marty McLean, Instructor for the Detroit Electrical Industry Training Center. We’ll be joined by Diana Nash with Green Team Coalition to learn about the upcoming Building Information Technology Conference happening on Feb. 24th. Finally, we’ll talk with Andy Levin, President and Founder of Lean and Green Michigan which runs the Michigan Property Assessed Clean Energy Financing program.
