Sinopse

What is the Type A Creative? I'm so glad you asked! The Type A Creative is a podcast for driven creatives. For a long time, when I thought of the word artist I usually thought of a painter someone floaty and magical, absorbed in their own world of art. But, Im not like that. Yes, Im a writer and designer. But Ive got a business brain and some monster-sized ambition to match. For years Ive been running a business and building a career around my creative skills. But now, Im also working to cultivate a creative practice that's not necessarily for sale, for a client, or to fulfill some ambition. I'm out to have some "creativity for keeps." As driven people, we often have a hard time believing this kind of creativity is "worth it." We sneakily talk ourselves into thinking it has to turn into a business, otherwise, it's indulgent, or simply not worth our time. I'm looking for a bit of inner peace between my driven entrepreneur and my inner artist. My question for myself, and hopefully all of you is, "How do we balance a life where we want BOTH? Both creativity and art, but also big career goals?" In this podcast, I talk to people who are starting new creative projects, have thriving creative projects, and have conversations with a rotating cast of my smart friends from fellow bosses to creative directors and working writers, filmmakers, and artist. Together we have conversations about what it is to be both Type A and creative.
