The word of God commands believers to rejoice, but fear and anxiety get in the way. Philippians 4:4-9 shows us three pathways leading from anxiety to joy.

Why do we so easily give in to sin? The answer: we believe the lies that we are offered in the moment of temptation. This passage helps us identify the lies and counter them with the truth.

How do you recognize a truly successful church? It's not uncommon for people to evaluate a church like a business by looking at numbers, budgets, and buildings. But does Jesus see success that way? What does the Bible actually say about what successful ministry looks like?

Do you follow Jesus because of what you believe He can do for you - what you can get from Him?  Or do you believe that if you work hard enough that Jesus will bless you with health and wealth or even your salvation? Jesus wants us to love Him, the Giver, and rest in Him - not work for our salvation.

When you don't feel Jesus near, He may be stretching your faith - just as He did with the disciples when He came to them walking on the water in the storm.

We try hard to solve our own problems, but some problems require supernatural solutions. Jesus reminds us He is able and willing not only to meet our needs but satisfy the deepest desires of our heart.

Do you ever feel completely worn out - both physically and spiritually? Take heart - you are not alone! God will comfort us in the midst of our anger, sorrows, and depression if we let Him.

The bad news of our sin allows the Good News of salvation to mean so much more to us. If we don't even know that we are sinners and believe that we are basically good people, then why would Jesus need to die for us? Facing our sin is hard, but when we do Jesus is there to meet us and wash us clean!

Have you ever known someone who demanded proof that Christianity is true before they would believe? Jesus shows us that intellectual obstacles to belief often mask the true heart of unbelief: a conscious refusal to submit to the lordship of Christ.

Eternal life is something we as Christians can enjoy right now because of our relationship with Christ!

What can we learn from the paralyzed man healed by Jesus? 

As our chaotic world becomes even more so, Christians can rest in the hope that God will not only restore what our sin has taken from us, but will also renew all of creation.

What is our most pressing problem as human beings?  By examining Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well, we see how Jesus can meet our most urgent need by ushering us into an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman introduces us to a God who offers true and lasting happiness - eternal life.
