Their father, Yoshitaka Ando, recently died from cancer on Dec. 3, just three days before the two boys went to the a Division 2 Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium with the L-S football team.In this audio clip, Kyle and Marcus go back and forth talking about their father, who was the L-S athletic trainer, and what he meant to them.

    Four members of the Algonquin boys hockey team visited with host Tommy Cassell to talk about winning the Daily News Cup.   After beating Hudson in the semifinals of the Daily News Cup, the Tomahawks defeated Hopkinton in a rematch of the previous finals.   • Four from Franklin High girls basketball play a new game or two

    Franklin High junior Ali Brigham announced her verbal commitment to play basketball at George Washington University on Dec. 4. Exactly a week later, Brigham scored a game-high 29 points in a 61-20 win over Milford.   The junior standout joined host Tommy Cassell with Franklin senior captains Bea Bondhus and Shannon Gray, and junior Megan O'Connell.   The quartet of Panthers talked basketball, volleyball and tanning tips, while also discussing a new initiative that doesn't allow basketball players to roll up their shorts this season.   At the beginning and end of the podcast, the four Franklin basketballers had some fun.   • Blackstone Valley Tech wins a Super Bowl title

  • Connor Walker's first steps

    On September 28, Marlborough High 2017 graduate Connor Walker could feel his legs. A day later, the Saint Anselm sophomore football player could not.   Following a spinal cord injury in a game against Southern Connecticut, Connor was rushed to the hospital when he couldn't feel or move his body. Roughly three days later, he finally regained full feeling in his upper body but still can't feel his lower half to this day.   Connor, along with his father, Robbie Walker, joined host Tommy to talk about the events of Sept. 29, the diagnosis, the rehab and now the future.   • Blackstone Valley Tech football channelling 'Rocky 2'

    Jordyn Amero, Scott MacKay, and Aidan Fitzgerald, as well as junior J.D. Antaya, of Blackstone Valley Tech's football team join host Tommy Cassell in the studio.   The Blackstone Valley Tech football team still finds itself on the road to Gillette Stadium after its first playoff game, a 29-13 win over Assabet in the Division 7 Central semifinals. Last season, the Beavers made it to the Div. 7 Super Bowl before falling to Mashpee.   BVT is back on a revenge tour that its calling 'Rocky 2'. The coaches just happened to be Tommy's high school classmates. After senior captain, Charlie Roberts scooped up three rubber ducky’s during his team’s trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, in May the team used them as good luck charms in his team’s dugout ever since,  Joining me were three of its senior captains in Charlie Sumner, Alex Luscher and Roberts.   • Holliston grad talks running Marathon for former teacher with ALS

    Holliston High School graduate Jake Obid and his former teacher Bill Wechsler joined host Tommy Cassell for this week's episode. Wechsler was diagnosed with ALS in 2016 and was given two to five years to live. Obid credits Wechsler, who was a social worker at Holliston High until 2017, with saving his life as Obid was struggling with school and his life as a sophomore at Holliston. Obid finished the 2018 Boston Marathon. He ran to pay homage to his former teacher and raised nearly $15K for Team Challenge ALS. He finished the race with a calf injury and possibly a torn meniscus in his knee. Obid and Wechsler talk about the Boston Marathon, the toughest part of ALS and Obid's plans to follow in Wechsler's footsteps, in an episode that might bring tears to your eyes.   • Two All-State wrestling champions and their coaches

    Host Tommy Cassell talks with Lincoln-Sudbury senior Andrew Marshall and Wayland senior Ramazan Attasauov along with L-S assistant wrestling coach Joel Mode and Wayland head coach Sean Chase.   Marshall is in the 220-pound weight class and Attasauov is in the 132-pound weight class.   Marshall and Attasauov both are fresh off the New England Championships where Marshall won his weight class and Attasauov lost in the finals.     Host Tommy Cassell is joined by Natick High School seniors Brendan Fair, Peter Ryan, and Brett Davidson, who host their own show called “The Players Pod.” Cassell talks with the boys, who are all athletes at Natick High, about the show that focuses mostly Natick sports, sports, and life Natick High School. “It’s a voice for all of the athletes and the non-athletes at the school,” Ryan told Cassell. Ryan was a senior captain on the football team and is now a captain for the boys basketball team. He also wrote an article for me/MetroWest in the first edition of "The Player's Perspective.” Davidson was a member of the boys soccer team and is a captain of the indoor track team. Fair was a captain for the golf team in the fall. Cassell loosens the reins as well Fair, Ryan and Davidson take the last part of the podcast as their own.
