How To Escape The American Rat Race EP 08
26/06/2017 Duração: 48minIn this episode we work through an article that explores the mindset and lifestyles of 4 men in 4 very different income levels: $1MM / year $250k / year $53k / year The Poverty Line ($7 / hour + tips) It's fascinating the similarities and differences among these men, and most importantly (and why it's a part of our Podcast) is the mindset they have that has gotten them to the income level they are at. Tony Robbins in one of his many famous quotes says "If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you'll achieve the same results." The point of studying these individuals to see what they do and what they believe will let you copy someone who has an income level you want. For example if you're at 53k and want to get to 250k, copy YAKOV VILLASMIL. One thing to certainly make note of is all 4 of these men have a happiness level at 7 or higher, depending on the day. How To Escape The American Rat Race EP 07
08/06/2017 Duração: 26minPhysics is the most fundamental of the sciences. Sociology (the study of human society) is fundamentally many different psychological studies put together. Psychology (the study of the human mind) is simply how biological processes occur in our brains. Biology (the study of living organisms) is the the study of how chemical reactions occur within organisms. Chemistry (the study of chemicals) is essentially the study of the physical reactions that occur between chemicals. Therefore all branches of science can be reduced down to physics. So we are not a science based pod cast and I'm sure a lot of our listeners will be wondering why are talking about physics. In our show we will break down these physics concepts into how they apply to not only our lives, but also business! We will discuss: Critical Mass: "The smallest amount of fissile material needed for a sustained nuclear chain reaction. Activation Energy: "The minimum energy which must be available to a chemical syst

How to Escape the American Rat Race EP 06
30/05/2017 Duração: 23minIn this episode we are going to explore one of my favorite topics, retirement! I love talking about it, however it's something I never see myself actually doing. My thought is retire and do what? I can't play golf for the next 50 years without going insane. While this is my thought, it is obviously not the most popular thought because retirement is something we hear every day, especially as today the baby boomers are starting to retire. In this episode we are going to discuss several things: First - what it will take to retire financially, and some possible pitfalls. We will look at both the baby boomer generation who is starting to retire now, as well as the millenial generation which is just now entering the workforce. A recent Blackrock survey gives us a number that to me seems way low. Second - we will extrapolate baby boomer data to get a look into millenial retirement. As someone who is a part of the millenial generation I will say I don't know many of my peers who have a solid

30/05/2017 Duração: 29minIn this episode we will discuss mental models that deal with decision making. Each adult human makes hundreds or thousands of decisions every single day. We are going to discuss some ways you can make sure you are making the best decisions that you can. These are mental models that you literally should be applying to your life every single day! We will explore the following mental models: Business Case - "Captures the reasoning for initiating a project or task. It is often presented in a well-structured written document, but may also sometimes come in the form of a short verbal argument or presentation." Opportunity Cost - "The value of the best alternative forgone where, given limited resources, a choice needs to be made between several mutually exclusive alternatives. Assuming the best choice is made, it is the 'cost' incurred by not enjoying the benefit that would have been had by taking the second best available choice." Sunk Cost - "A cost that has already been incur

We will dive into the importance of goal setting, but hopefully from a perspective you haven't really looked at before. Writing down your 5 year goals every day is a good start, but ultimately what is that doing to make you take action each and every day? Goals are an invaluable tool, but only if used correctly, and we are going to discuss some of our goals and how we've worked towards them.
