This week, we’re talking HBO’s The Jinx, Making a Murderer from Netflix, and Season 1 of Serial (a podcast from the producers of This American Life). Three addicting and binge-worthy crime documentaries about seemingly insane miscarriages of justice. Did MAM leave out damning evidence? Did the Jinx prioritize entertainment value over legal protocol? Why is the Serial subreddit so insane? *HUGE spoilers for all 3. Shockingly, our reactions to these show’s dramatic endings actually reveal what the endings are ;)*

Most TV targeted to teens is dominated by male characters, often representing females as 1 dimensional or as “side-kicks" and love interests. These two teen shows, however, stand out from the others and transcend stereotypical female representation. Listen to us go head to head as we debate which show should be awarded the title of “Most Feminist Teen Show”: Veronica Mars (Sammy’s vote) or Pretty Little Liars (X’s vote). Spoilers: we say who A is. I repeat, WE SAY WHO A IS!! (you definitely should watch PLL before listening to this ep). There may also be mild Veronica Mars spoilers in here.
