A Look Back - Shalkan Mode
09/11/2025This track is a departure from the more traditional principles used to create the other tracks, being more of a modern breakbeat interpretation, but it makes much heavier use of samples from the original Derbyshire theme. Approaching the middle of the theme, a waveshaper filter is used to bend the Derbyshire melody into something far more reminiscent of Melody 2 from Howell's version of the theme. If you enjoyed this, please don't hesitate to share it around :) Special thanks to the Radiophonic Workshop, the developers of Surge XT and Dexed, and those responsible for maintaining dwtheme.com and whomix.windbubbles.net.

A Look Back - Radiophonic Mode
09/11/2025This track was primarily inspired, among other pieces, by the Delaware variant of the Doctor Who theme, as well as 'A New View of Politics' by Delia Derbyshire. I would hope this reflects in the meandering bloops I was sure to include here. The bassline, bloops, and percussion were synthesized using a custom Surge XT patch. The melody and drone were synthesized using Dexed and its included patches, and ran through various filters including reverb and saturation, and pitch manipulation to create higher octaves. After baking the project into fixed stems, one of the last steps was to downmix the stems to mono and apply various filters to emulate tape degredation which (in my opinion) is essential to an authentic sounding 60s-inspired Whomix. Besides the technical aspects of creating this theme, this rearrangement of the theme runs at 70bpm. One of the primary deviations from Grainer's original arrangement was to double each block of the bassline, so each dum-de-dum is accompanied by a sped-up dum-de-dum-dum-de

A Look Back - Delian Mode
09/11/2025This track was created before Radiophonic Mode and was my exercise run with the Surge XT synthesizer. It is ran through the same degredation filters as Radiophonic Mode, but unlike its successor, it is more faithful to Delia's original realisation of the theme (and Grainer's original arrangement) and samples her original recording of the melody. If you enjoyed this, please don't hesitate to share it around :) If there is any demand, I will be happy to arrange a release of the undegraded stereo versions of Radiophonic and Delian here. Special thanks to the Radiophonic Workshop, the developers of Surge XT and Dexed, and those responsible for maintaining dwtheme.com and whomix.windbubbles.net.

1986 Constellation Cluster
23/11/2023Have you ever wished the theme tune would go for the length of AN ENTIRE EPISODE? Then we have the whomix for you. Party like it's 1986 … for 26 minutes! Each "fold" is subtly different, as it goes from 2 to 4 to 8 to 16 etc. Composed by Ron Grainer Arranged by Dominic Glynn Remixed by Danny Stewart Supercut by Christian Kent Danny's "DG Constellation Mix" was so refined and more-ish, that I kept putting it on a loop.

The Unanswered Question
23/11/2023it's got some big finish 8th doctor vibes with the more elusive melody and some 80s stuff in the middle eight and i tried to make the bass a bit derby-ish while still remaining modern :) (i hope the id tags came out alright)

Destiny of the Doctors
23/11/2023A slight recreation/remix of the theme from 'Destiny of the Doctor's. I've used various pieces of the Derbyshire Multitracks (constructed by me) and a couple samples from the actual PC theme itself. For the bassline and backing tracks, I've created that all myself to sound close to the bassline in the theme but more traditional 'Delia'. I think it sounds better like that anyway. ;) Enjoy!

Doctor How
23/11/2021I am submitting this new remix to your site. A version I did back in 2008 (under the name DistantJ) is floating around the internet and I found out recently that people had been looking for me, so I decided to make a new version.

Pokemix (a.k.a. Retromix II)
17/03/2018“...Where are we, Doctor?” “Definitely somewhere on Earth, Ace. 1988, I think...? But something's different about it...” *Suddenly the Doctor ducks to avoid a random discharge of electricity aimed at his finger. He turns around, and running towards him is... an adorable, cuddly Pikachu!?* What would happen if the T.A.R.D.I.S. landed in the Kanto region? Well, I imagine that it would start a bit like this... I created this simple retro mix as a way of celebrating the 20th anniversary of Pokémon on the 27th of February this year. Happy Pokémon Day, everyone :D (even though this could easily be ridiculously early/late xD)
