FTHP 011: Bodybuilding the RIGHT way with Mathew Park
18/08/2014 Duração: 01h10minBodybuilding has been Mathew Park's passion since the age of fifteen. Back then, his dream was to start a natural body building competition in Canada . It's remarkable to me, at that age, to have such a specific and lofty goal. At age fifteen, all I could think about was dating Rob Lowe. Unlike me, Mathew achieved his goal in 2006 when he founded International Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness Canada and has also reached the status of a Pro bodybuilder through the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation. Susan, my co-host, and I met Mathew at Derrick Shirley's P2P writing summit, (more with Derrick on Episode #8). I was immediately drawn to his stillness. There was no muscle shirt showing off impressive deltoids or lats and no hint of a 'look at me' attitude. Instead, he showed genuine interest in the people he interacted with and when they spoke, he listened, really listened. He is full of gratitude and it is obvious he is guided by his heart. When we found

FTHP 010: Donloree. Your Life. Your Impact. Your Choice.
05/08/2014 Duração: 56minHi Folks. It’s Susan from lifeinbalancesortof.com. I’m taking over the page at FeedtheHuman.com for a second to introduce our FTHP 010 guest…my friend…life coach, leadership mentor, author, hobby bodybuilder and self-love advocate Donloree Hoffman. Donloree has an inspiring story. From a 200lb, “super nerdy” (please note description of her favourite childhood plaid pants, which frankly sound ultra-great), non-athletic 20 year old, she transformed herself through the exploration of fitness. What I love about Donloree’s fitness story is that it has taken different paths. But it started with a decision to do something different, and she’s let the path emerge. In the podcast we discuss: - That fitness/wellness is a common theme underlying many personal and business coaching issues. - Donloree’s early forays into running, biking, and triathlon before stumb

FTHP 009: Moving from Hating to Loving Your Body. Identity Shifting with Rob Scott.
20/07/2014 Duração: 01h17minI hate my body. I can't stop eating sugar. I never go to bed early enough. I want to run but never have the time to do it. These negative narratives run repeatedly in our thoughts and eventually we become frustrated and disgusted with our selves. Self sabotage creeps in and we believe we don't deserve it and now we experience a daily internal story that limits us. Paralyzes us. Those desirable behaviours that we know are right for us, are unattainable. The key to change is to master how to talk to ourselves and how we think. Mastering our thoughts can change everything. Rob Scott teaches us that the language that forms our thoughts have a powerful effect on our subconscious. What if we could Fundamentally Shift everything we think about ourself, and reality itself? Rob Scott is known for hijacking people's minds, rewiring their limiting beliefs, and leaving them completely transformed. He's been sought out as a Mindset Expert and Master Coach for industry and government lea

FTHP 008: The One Habit That Will Transform Your LIfe
20/06/2014 Duração: 01h09minTransformation. A big and powerful word. Is there really one habit that can transform your life? Derrick Shirley believes there is and has his own transformative story to prove it. Derrick changed his life with journalling. The simple but profound act of picking up a pen and letting his thoughts pour through onto paper allowed him to gain insight into behaviours that weren't serving him. Eighteen months later he was 140 pounds lighter and was inspired to spread the message about the power of the pen. You probably have pre-conceived ideas on what journalling looks like and how it 'should' be done. I know I did. I saw it as something I did at night when I was experiencing a negative emotion such as sadness, frustration, or anger. Derrick challenges these common believes and discusses in depth when, where and what to journal. What questions should you ask yourself? And manifestation? That can happen too when you tap into the magic of your wand/pen. Be prepared to s

FTHP 007: What's the most important question in skin care?
30/05/2014 Duração: 01h40minWhich products do I need to look younger? How do I get rid of this breakout/acne/redness/age spot? Will this product clog my pores? Is this right for my skin type? These questions are common when it comes to skin care but they are not the most important. The most important question has nothing to do with how you will look. But how can we not worry about how we look when the media bombards us with images of women with the most youthful, glowing skin? As a women of modern, western culture, we are born into this media construct. Whether the models are 20 or 40 there isn’t a wrinkle or an age spot to be seen. These images sink into our consciousness and without realizing it, we believe this is what we should look like. And the flawless look is attainable if we use the ultra-moisturizing, anti-aging, wrinkle-defying, luminescent, fountain of youth products advertised. Right? Seriously, do we ever get that flawless look? Reality hits us every morning when we glance in the m

Your hear yours self say 'until I am this, I can't do that'. Or when you receive advice that resonates on a deeper level, you hear yourself say 'yeah, but this 'or 'yeah, but that'. But what about that t
