Comic Convo

Blaise crams in a quick Halloween episode with his good buddy Seth! After mixing up his own schedule, Blaise had Seth read Paper Girls Vol.1 a couple of weeks ago, so they are finally going to talk about it! Join them as they discuss the masterpiece written by Brian K. Vaughn and the incredible art team of Cliff Chiang and Matt Wilson!

The boys are back! Blaise and Chris are joined by their good friend Seth to do a different kind of episode, taking a break from comics for a week to review the premiere episodes of the DC TV shows that are on The CW network. Join the team as they dive into what they thought of The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Riverdale, and Arrow. Plus, what they are expecting and hoping to see out of each of these shows this season! 

For the first time ever it's Blaise's super duper solo episode! After some rearranging of schedules and a super busy co-host, Blaise takes the mic all by himself to discuss the first volume of Uncanny Inhumans: Time Crush, by Charles Soule and Steve McNiven!    With Marvel's Inhumans television show releasing in IMAX and coming to ABC within the next couple of weeks, it felt like the perfect time to explore this historic portion of Marvel comics and characters! 

Blaise and Chris are joined by Blaise's cousin and Game of Thrones aficionado, Garrett Hopkins! In honor of the Game of Thrones Season 7 finale, they dive into the graphic novel adaptation of George RR Martin's "The Hedge Knight." The episode discusses how the adaptation fits into the universe and what it adds to the overall Game of Thrones lore as well as how well a Game of Thrones based comic actually works! 

Uh oh.... it's the first Solo Sethisode. Seth joins Blaise for a week celebrating the release of the Defenders by discussing Charles Soule and Ron Garney's Daredevil: Back in Black "Chinatown". Soule has become one of the top writers over at Marvel and his Daredevil book has been a top notch story. Chinatown is the first volume in the series and is a fantastic read. 

Blaise and Chris are joined by their SDCC crew in an episode covering not one, but two trade paperbacks about Batman. The group dives into "The Court of Owls" and "The City of Owls" by Scott Snyder. These books kick off Snyder's New 52 Batman run and do a phenomenal job of introducing Batman to readers of all kinds. 

This week Blaise and Chris are joined by longtime friend Sebastian Hensiek to talk about Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini's "Low." The dystopian book is set in an underwater society where a family has to navigate the many threats without losing hope. The hosts discuss Remender's incredible writing as well as Tocchini defining art style! 

Back from San Diego Comic-Con, Blaise and Chris check out some individual floppies (individual comics). The issues are all a reaction to the upcoming movies and television show seasons that they are most excited for. 

Kat Calamia a.k.a. ComicUno joins Blaise and Chris to dive into one of her favorite 4 issue arcs from the Ultimate Spider-Man series by Brian Michael Bendis. 

This week Blaise and Chris walk through Green Arrow Year 1 by Andy Diggle and Jock. They discuss the story, artwork and Oliver Queen as a character throughout this origin story.
