Sinopse
Nature makes no mistakes. God does not play dice! Instead, every symptom is your bodys appropriate response to traumatic stress, according to five natural laws of healing discovered by cancer doctor, Dr. R.G. Hamer in the early 1980s. When you know the real cause of your symptom, youve got the power to resolve it at its source. The Mind Over Symptom Podcast with Lishui Springford shows you the science of the mind-body connection. Listen weekly to uncover the real reason - and potential cure - for every symptom from AIDS to Alzheimers, from bipolar disorder to bulimia, and from the common cold to cancer.

24 How to Spot Health Bullshit
11/04/2026 Duração: 17minHow do you tell the difference between real health information and health bullshit? In this episode, I unpack a simple but crucial filter: does the message increase your clarity and self-trust, or does it lower them? We are surrounded by health claims now — from conventional medicine, alternative medicine, freedom culture, AI-generated content, and even Germanic New Medicine circles. But not all of this is meant to inform us. Much of it is meant to persuade us. I walk through several common patterns of bad reasoning that show up in health discourse, including fear-based claims, appeals to authority, false cause-and-effect, and false binaries. I also explore why one of the biggest obstacles to really understanding the five biological laws is the habit of dragging old mechanically deterministic thinking into GNM. If we keep speaking as though we are victims of shocks, genes, germs, toxins, or even our own bodies, we have not actually left the old paradigm behind. This episode is about reclaiming discernment, re

The Biological Purpose of Arrested Development
04/04/2026 Duração: 19minDevelopmental arrest isn't about intelligence or emotions. In this episode, I explain why it is better understood as hesitation, a waiting state, and a meaningful part of evolution via a constellation of two (or more) temporal lobe conflicts in the cerebral cortex. I also discuss: why childish "appeal to authority" logic can distort understanding in Germanic New Medicine why two people in the same traumatic situation usually create different conflicts (or no conflict at all) why developmental arrest is about waiting, not stupidity how to help yourself or someone else understand what you're waiting for when your in developmental arrest why growth is very rapid once those conflicts begin to resolve the special abilities that have been developing during that waiting period If you or someone you love seems developmentally stuck in a certain area of life, this episode offers a different way to think about that state: not as pointless failure, but as meaningful delay with evolutionary purpose. 22 Mind Over Cancer
26/03/2026 Duração: 18minWhat if cancer isn't your body breaking down—but your body responding exactly as it's designed to? The real path forward isn't fighting the body, but understanding and supporting it. In this episode, we break down what cancer actually is, how it starts, and why the common explanations around genes, carcinogens, and metastasis don't hold up under true scientific scrutiny. You'll see why cancer is not random, not malicious, and not your body turning against you—but a precise biological response to a biological conflict in your psyche. We also explore why fear, diagnosis, and even treatment can lead to more biological conflicts, and why understanding this changes everything about how to make healing happen. Most importantly, you'll learn the key distinction between active-conflict cancers and healing-phase cancers. The Price of Plenty: Parasites According to the 5 Biological Laws
19/03/2026 Duração: 19minParasites aren't invading forces working against you. They are part of a natural ecological feedback system. And they flourish wherever there is excess. In this episode, we explore "parasites" through the lens of the five biological laws and a basic ecological law: Every species grows in proportion to its food supply. This includes microbes, insects, plants… and even humans (or certain types of human behaviours). You'll learn: Why parasites appear during healing phases How excess tissue becomes food for microbes Why eliminating parasites doesn't solve the real problem How the same pattern shows up in relationships, attention, and modern life What to actually do if you want parasites (biological or metaphorical) to stop recurring This episode reframes parasites from something to fear into something to understand. Because when you understand what they're feeding on, you can finally address the root cause. Listen now: https://mindtreehealth.co/parasites-according-to-the-5-biological-laws Free training: https

7 Things Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Thyroid Health
14/03/2026 Duração: 31minThyroid problems are some of the most confusing and frustrating health conditions people experience. Even though much of what is blamed on thyroid disease - fatigue, weight gain, anxiety, hair loss, inflammation, and dozens of other symptoms - can have nothing to do with thyroid. And many people who do have thyroid-related health issues can feel like crap, even when their measured thyroid hormone levels are "normal." Why is thyroid illness so difficult to diagnose and treat? Because the thyroid is not simply a hormone factory that controls metabolism. In this episode, we explore thyroid health through the lens of the Five Biological Laws and the concept of special biological programs. You'll discover why thyroid symptoms are widely misunderstood and why conventional treatments rarely resolve the underlying issue. In this episode we cover: • how thyroid symptoms are connected to biological conflicts about speed and control • why hypothyroidism always follows hyperthyroidism • why chronic relapses of the thyroi

19 Is It Safe to Solve a Schizophrenic Constellation?
05/03/2026 Duração: 12minWhat if the symptoms you fear most are actually the signs that you're getting well? One of the first things we learn in the Germanic Healing Knowledge is that most physical symptoms are healing phase symptoms—which means, paradoxically, that being sick usually means you're healthy. But because we were raised in a culture that treats illness as dangerous (or fatal), we're conditioned to fear symptoms. That fear can get even bigger when we hear warnings about resolving certain conflicts—especially temporal lobe conflicts or a schizophrenic constellation, which is two temporal lobe conflicts relayed from opposite sides of the cerebral cortex. Thankfully, you don't need to fear resolving a schizophrenic constellation. Not just because fearing or worrying about it is completely useless (because you have no choice about solving things), but also because the constellation itself changes the conflict load of the special biological programs in a crucial (and helpful) way. Temporal lobe healing phase symptoms can inclu

Symptoms Caused by Not Having Good Boundaries
26/02/2026 Duração: 29minWhat if a huge percentage of modern health symptoms — from hemorrhoids to heart attacks — trace back to one thing: not being able to say "no?" Special biological programs relaying from the temporal lobes of your cerebral cortex are all about either: Masculine territory — problems providing for and protecting what is so important to you that you'd give your life in devotion to it. The feminine principle — problems feeling the container of devotion; feeling provided for and protected so that you can relax and flourish. A boundary is the limit or edge of territory, and a boundary problem is an inability either to assert territory (masculine), or to feel the existence of secure territory (feminine). So a boundary problem is, for the masculine, an inability to say (or assert) "no." For the feminine, it's an inability to feel the "no" — which makes it impossible to feel any "yes." Not having good boundaries means biological conflicts that express as both physical symptoms (bronchi, larynx, coronary vessels, stomach

Wake Up Call: Why Your Adrenals Are Burnt Out (and Begging for Help)
19/02/2026 Duração: 01h14minWake up: "adrenal burnout" isn't a simple deficiency problem — it's a tangled set of special biological programs that can be so messy, confusing, and chronic that they turn you into a blob. In this episode, I break down the two adrenal programs (adrenal medulla vs. adrenal cortex), the related but very different conflict dynamics behind each one, and why the usual "find the stressor out there and fix it" approach is the absolute opposite of what you need to do to solve this. Then I share the surprisingly simple solution I've learned the hard way: a one-level-up move that wakes you up to the real biological conflicts in real time — and starts letting you finally unwind the entire adrenal loop. Mind Over Anxiety and Phobias
12/02/2026 Duração: 17minAnxiety isn't "just in your head." In this episode, I explain anxiety (in Germanic Healing Knowledge / German New Medicine) as a constellation of frontal fear conflicts: powerlessness (helpless, "someone needs to do something"), and moving into danger (something coming at you, or you rushing toward something—sometimes as simple as an upcoming event on your calendar). When this constellation is intense, it can drive anxiety attacks. If it combines with a fear-from-behind, that triggers a panic attack. Phobias result from "tracks," when you have an anxiety or panic attack, and your brain stores environmental details as a powerful "alarm track" so that when you're noticing a similar future situation, your system launches same response. You'll hear how this special biological program is connected with the frontal relays (above your eyes), and why racing thoughts and overanalysis aren't the cause of anxiety—they are the anxiety: a biological strategy meant to make you smarter in the face of perceived threat. 15 The Upside of Being a Medical Heretic
08/02/2026 Duração: 15minOur modern "religion" is determinism: the belief that your symptoms, your emotions, and even your aging are caused by forces outside your control. Whether that force is germs, genes, bad luck, stress, trauma, or "the economy," the effect is the same: you become a passive victim of your body. In this episode, I make the case that determinism is the hidden belief that keeps people sick—even in alternative health, and even among students of the Five Biological Laws. A biological conflict isn't "harm" that happens to you. It's something your psyche does for a reason. When you stop treating conflict like an external threat, you reclaim the steering wheel. The antidote to determinism is what I call deliberate selfish self-development: not indulgence, not antisocial self-centredness, but the healthy, life-directed selfishness that restores energy, direction, gratitude, and forward motion—so your biology can move with you instead of against you. 13 "Proof" of the Natural Laws of Healing
16/02/2017 Duração: 30min"Incurable Symptoms" Those of us who care about health are pretty good at handling an occasional sniffle or muscle spasm or other temporary illness. But what about those symptoms that we get that we never find out the cause of …or cure for. We go from one specialist to another, we try various “out of the box” alternative health solutions. But for too many of us, too often, and even too soon …we begin to accept that the symptom is just part of how our life is going to be from now on. The reason we give up on overcoming illnesses and instead just start living with the symptom permanently is that modern medicine today rests on a set of “proven facts.” Scientifically-proven facts like the Germ Theory of Disease, or the concept of the so-called “selfish gene.” Why go looking for a cure for MS when it’s a medical “fact” that this condition is incurable? I’ll tell you why. Because it’s NOT a proven fact. There’s no such thing as a proven fact! (Scientific or otherwise) But not understanding this, conventional medica

12 Do You Really Want to Heal?
04/11/2016 Duração: 27minThe Thing About Unsolvable Problems... Everyone, sooner or later, gets stuck with a chronic, repeating, or “incurable” health condition for which there is no known cure. (And incurable symptoms happen not just in our bodies but in other aspects of our lives as well) Underlying any condition that we believe we've "tried everything" to fix is not an incurable condition but another, deeper belief. That's a belief in the status quo. A belief that your outcome - your current state - is a result of statistics. A belief that you are a statistic. How can you know that this is the case? Because you and I live in a society that dismisses the outliers for being "abnormal" and irrelevant. Outliers like the 10% (or more) of lung cancer patients who survive and recover. The people with Down syndrome who have above-average IQ's. The women who have remained fertile into their 50's. These kinds of anomalies are thought to be the exceptions that "prove" the rules. You're not encouraged to try to be one of these (because that w

11 Mind Over Insomnia
09/09/2016 Duração: 30minGetting the Sleep You Need Insomnia is when you can't fall asleep ("nighttime insomnia") or you can’t stay asleep ("morning insomnia"). Acute insomnia is when you're having trouble sleeping due to a recent traumatic shock experience (stress). Chronic insomnia is when you have trouble sleeping more than twice a week for more than 3 months Insomnia isn't when you can't sleep because you keep getting woken up. It's when you can't sleep even if you get rid of all distractions, like light, noise, stimulants and sedatives, heavy meals, uncomfortable bed, poor routine/schedule/habits, discomfort from pain or restless leg syndrome or apnea, and all the other things we blame for our sleeplessness. So insomnia is when you can't fall asleep or stay asleep during the time when you should be sleeping. The result of not getting the sleep you need is fatigue, low energy, difficulty concentrating, mood disturbances, and decreased performance in work or at school. You might start to feel anxiousness, dread, or panic at just t

10 The Life-Saving Difference Between Treatment and Healing
29/08/2016 Duração: 24minModern medicine is absolutely brilliant at saving your life when you’ve got a gross anatomical problem, like injury, poisoning, or malnutrition. Or in the healing phase and especially the healing crisis after you resolve a major biological conflict. But conventional and even most alternative treatment regimens do not resolve symptoms for organically-generating diseases that aren't a result of injury, poisoning, or malnutrition. Diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, AIDS, stroke …or even the common cold. As a result, organically-generating symptoms are almost always incurable. At least with conventional treatment. But we’re very attached to our treatments. We’re so attached to the idea of “fighting” the symptom that we actually try even harder …but doing the wrong thing. The reason why this philosophy of treating symptoms does not cure our illnesses is that organically-generating symptoms are a result of a traumatic stress experience. The symptom is your body’s attempt to resolve that traumatic stres

9 The Ups and Downs of Blood Sugar
22/08/2016 Duração: 47minWhat Are You Fighting With or Fleeing From? It's been almost a century since Charles Banting's discovery that high blood sugar (diabetes mellitus) has to do with the production of insulin by islet cells located in your pancreas. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) is to this day rarely even diagnosed as a medical condition, and when it is, it's usually thought to be a consequence of incorrect use of diabetes medication. Diabetes makes you feel heavy, slow. Hypoglycemia makes you feel shaky, restless, hungry. If blood sugar goes high for too long (diabetes), ketoacidosis, which is slow poisoning from metabolic waste products, will make you increasingly ill. If blood sugar goes too low (hypoglycemia), death occurs within hours. Your brain simply cannot keep functioning without adequate energy supply. Medically, diabetes is controlled either by controlling sugar intake (dietary restrictions) or by taking medically-prescribed insulin (or both). Hypoglycemia, much more dangerous than diabetes but rarely diagnosed exc

8 HIV Positive? Your Biggest Threat
06/08/2016 Duração: 30minAIDS was a terrifying new disease that first appeared in 1981, and then exploded into a global epidemic that killed its victims very rapidly. A cure and vaccine have not yet been found. Health care professionals quickly pinpointed a retrovirus called "Human Immunodeficiency Virus" and the American Food and Drug Administration approved a blood test to identify the presence of the virus. Then AZT, a chemotherapy drug designed in the 1960's, was approved as a treatment to try to prevent HIV from developing into AIDS. Unfortunately, the drug was very expensive. And it produced harsh health effects of its own. Fortunately, the illness began to decline in most areas of the world by the mid-90's ...however, sub-Saharan Africa still lists AIDS as its number one killer. This makes AIDS the 4th leading cause of death worldwide and it's still an enormous health emergency. The solution is elusive, because HIV is elusive. The virus has never been isolated. The HIV test only measures antibodies against proteins which are b

7 Mind Over Heart Disease (Part 2)
02/08/2016 Duração: 23minNon-Ischaemic Heart Disease Non-ischaemic heart disease, unlike ischaemic heart disease, actually affects the heart. This group of symptoms is called cardiomyopathy (literally, "illness of heart muscle"), heart failure (meaning, "failure of the heart to do what it should, or do it very well"), and valve problems/valvular disease (which includes the diagnosis of rheumatic fever) Cardiomyopathy usually also includes pericarditis or pericardial effusion. These symptoms affect the pericardium, which is actually the protective sac that surrounds the heart, and isn't part of the heart itself. Prevention of Cardiomyopathy Both our prevailing understanding of how the heart works and our belief about what causes cardiomyopathy are based on the underlying assumption that the heart is a pump. Its job is to push oxygenated blood around your body at a rate of about 5 litres per minute. This essentially mechanical device is like an engine, but instead of about 300,000 kilometres in it, the heart's got about 2.5 bil

6 Mind Over Respiratory Illness
29/07/2016 Duração: 21minThe World Health Organization lists COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) as the #3 killer worldwide, lower respiratory infections at #4, and cancer of trachea, bronchus, lung collectively at #5 cause of deaths worldwide. That is, the #3, #4, and #5 causes of human death around the planet all have to do with the respiratory tract. (Ischaemic heart disease and stroke are #1 and #2) If you put these three sets of symptoms together - that is, COPD, lower respiratory infections, and cancer of the trachea, bronchus and lung - and then you add in the several more respiratory symptoms that aren't listed in these three categories ...well, respiratory illness is clearly the number one killer on the planet. What's not clear is why the particular symptoms form, why respiratory illness affects different people differently in different parts of the world ...or what to do about respiratory illness. What most health practitioners don’t know (because it's a very new discovery), is that health symptoms that affect the r
