Purpose Statement: What is Paul’s conversion experience? How has Paul influenced many Christians? Paul shapes a lot of our theology, the Gospels, and spiritual depth and width. What did Paul say? “Follow me as I follow Christ.” We value the significance and importance of Paul’s conversion experience. His was true transformation. Where did Paul come from? What did he do?

Purpose Statement: What do we do with Easter? It has been three days since His body was laid in a tomb. Where is His body now? Who stole it? What does Mary do when she discovers the tomb? Who encounters Jesus as an eyewitness? What do you believe about the resurrection of Jesus? What has the changing power of an experience with Jesus really done in your life?

Purpose Statement: This is a monumental moment for our Lord. This event is Triumphant Sunday or Passover. Jesus enters Jerusalem as people claim Him as the Messiah. What is going on here? On the surface this seems like a happy day for the Lord. However, Hosanna’s die quickly. On Friday the people were crying for a criminal to be released and their King crucified.

Purpose Statement: What did Mahatma Ghandi ask some missionaries to do for him? What is wondrous about the cross? Why are our souls saddened and yet thrilled about the cross? Who climbed Golgotha’s slope as governor of Massachusetts? Why is a life of gratitude and praise demanded by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross?

Purpose Statement: The trial of our Lord before Pilate. What is it about Christ and His suffering that shocks us? The Lord Jesus was humble in every aspect of His life by suffering and taking on full humanity. He was crucified by a lifelong cross of suffering. What was His purpose?

Purpose Statement: What else does Idolatry reverse? Our created glory and God’s blessing. What does Idolatry bring? A curse. The root of all our problems is idolatry. What is the first and great commandment? What is our solution to Idolatry? Seeing God is greater than our idolatrous earthly pleasures.

Purpose Statement: What is God’s response to idolatry? Idolatry reveres what is our only sustaining delight. What does Isaiah see and hear? In idolatry we become what we worship. What is the first and greatest commandment?

Purpose Statement: What do people crave? Notice that Paul gives Timothy a list of instructions to pass on to the church. What should a pastor address? Employees at the Bible Class receive hundreds of letters from “hair-splitters.” We never heard a word from them until they had some criticism to offer or fault to find. Many of the letters are not worthy of a returned answer because they are bitter. For some folks it is just an opinion. You can’t debate an argument that is one sided or of little profit. What does the Bible warn against? Debate the grammatical correctness of “The hen was sitting – or the hen was setting.” How we behave connects our Christianity with other people. How do people see us?

Purpose Statement: In our confession of sin as a Christian do we acknowledge ourselves as sinners forgiven and saved by the grace of God? How is our heart and soul? How did Isaiah a prophet confess in Isaiah 6? How did Paul in Romans 7 confess? We have the opportunity to acknowledge our own sinfulness, corrupted desires, and goals. We should want the best from God. David who wrote the Book of Psalm worshipped the Lord. He was a man after the heart of God. This was a true confession. What will our confession be?
