MUCH BETTER: Panthers end the Home stand on a 3-game point streak! Swaggy Daddy Verhaeghe stayed hot
09/12/2025 Duração: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to discuss the back-to-back weekend where the Panthers got two wins in two different ways, and they defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 7-6 in OT after being down three goals, in the second period and getting their first win when going into the third period trailing, while also scoring the second latest OT winner in franchise history in a game that they were chasing the entire time. They then followed it with shutting down the New York Islanders by a final of 4-1 where they got up 2-0 and never allowed the Isles to tie it. Two insurance goals in the third helped seal it while the Cats only gave up two SOG's in the third. Carter Verhaeghe stayed hot with a three-goal weekend, Eetu Luostarinen made his return to the lineup after being out due to an in home BBQ accident, and the lineup felt truly balanced again with their ability to roll their lines on the second end of the back-to-back. The bottom six were impactful

NO INSURANCE: Power play failed to create separation as the Panthers came out with only one point
05/12/2025 Duração: 35minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Joey Ganzi(@Mister_Joester) to break down the Panthers 2-1 OT loss to the Nashville Predators, where the Panthers had the lead for the majority of the game, thanks to new dad Carter Verhaeghe., There were many opportunities to create insurance goals with six power play opportunities and even getting four short handed shots on goal. In a penalty filled game, the Cats couldn't take advantage, which cost them a point. Predators tied it 53 minutes into the game after a battle at the net front from Ryan O'Reilly. Panthers had a good amount of control in OT and it took Nashville over two minutes to finally get control, and on a transition play, Gustav Forsling slid into Sergei Bobrovsky and Nashville knocked it into a dislodged net to get the OT winner. Luck was on Nashville's side this time around as the Preds lost a game in that fashion just a few weeks ago. The guys discuss their three duds of the game, when they

LOTS OF TIME, BUT NO TIME TO WASTE: Math is against the Panthers in a bunched up Eastern Conference
04/12/2025 Duração: 33minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to discuss how the math is against the Panthers being in last place and having to climb back up. Florida will have to play at a better points percentage than they did after the new year in 2023, but there is still time before they get there. Florida can't waste any time, but what do the odds say about their chances to make the postseason? Is a Mulligan year worth it knowing that they'll have their core intact come the 2026-27 season? The Panthers continue their home stand on Thursday as they welcome in Nashville, who they just met with last week with a great road performance, can they repeat it again at home? LAST PLACE: Leafs bottom six decided the game early as the Panthers have lost four straight at home
03/12/2025 Duração: 38minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) was joined by Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) to break down the Panthers 4-1 loss to Toronto, where it was the Leafs bottom six getting on the board in the first eight minutes of the contest. The same line of Dakota Joshua-Nicholas Roy-Bobby McMann were the ones to convert on the night as they created the first two goals. Already without Carter Verhaeghe due to the birth of his child, the Cats were once again playing catch up as it's another multi-goal deficit, which now they are at the second most across the NHL. Florida was able to cut it to a one-goal game scoring short handed on the Leafs five-forward power play, thanks to Sam Reinhart, who skated in his 800th career game. Florida was unable to create space in the offensive zone, get to the inside and make life on Joseph Woll difficult, and were consistently losing draws on the evening. Panthers continued a push into the third period, but a failed clear from the Gustav Forslin

CRISIS MODE!? It's getting there for the Florida Panthers
01/12/2025 Duração: 34minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to discuss the Panthers 5-3 loss to the Calgary Flames, where it's another two-goal lead that the Panthers blew, this time with Daniil Tarasov in net for the Cats. Florida has been trying to do so much to create chances offensively that it's come at a sacrifice in their own zone, and it's resulting in a lot of goals against. The leadership for the Panthers called out the rest of the team in intermission and post game interviews, a sign of maturity that this isn't the standard that has made them successful in the past. Panthers continue the home stand on Tuesday as they welcome the struggling Maple Leafs to town on Tuesday. We discuss all of this and more on today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast: Your Team, Every Day.Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

SPLIT TIMESHARE? December schedule fill force more starts for Tarasov. How do they handle the month?
28/11/2025 Duração: 33minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) for another edition of Fairbanks Friday, as two discuss the upcoming December schedule. With Sergei Bobrovskys sub-par play and four back-to-back's, we'll see more starts from Daniil Tarasov, but how do the Panthers handle the rest of the month? Will they be closer to split timeshare in net? If Tarasov continues to perform at this level, he could command more on his next deal, but where should the Panthers go as both goaltender's contracts are set to expire in the 2026 offseason. The Panthers welcome in the Calgary Flames after getting blown out by Tampa Bay on Wednesday. With the Panthers coming off a last minute loss to the Flyers, should we expect the Panthers come out hot on Friday late afternoon? HEARTBREAKER: Flyers score twice late to deny Florida any points. Outside looking in at Thanksgiving
27/11/2025 Duração: 37minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) was joined by Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) to break down the Panthers 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers as Philadelphia scored four unanswered after the Panthers took a 2-0 lead, including two in the final minute to deny the Panthers a chance at any points. Sam Bennett stayed hot as he got a two assist night, and Carter Verhaeghe with a second consecutive game with a goal after going 13 games without scoring a goal. Florida however struggled to create any more separation, especially on their power play where they had a tough time gaining the blue line. They were able to dodge a couple of Flyers opportunities as they had almost a handful of odd man rushes, but couldn't connect to the net. Florida also couldn't connect on net on their passes cross ice in their offensive zone, and it kept the Flyers within distance. The Flyer goals in this game had one thing in common, getting guys to the net front to create screens and deflecti

FOR THE DAD'S: Panthers Out-skated the Predators as AJ Greer led the charge in a blowout victory
25/11/2025 Duração: 37minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Langsam of Panther Pourri to break down the Panthers 8-3 win over the Nashvillw Predators, as the Panthers set the tone from the start 11 seconds into the game, and out skated the Predators to shoot-in's, loose pucks around the crease, and scored multiple goals in transition. It was all about the Panthers speed and Nashville was not able to keep up. It's the second straight Monday where the Panthers put up eight goals, but this one might be more impressive, as all the goals came at even strength (one at four-on-four) and the Panthers chased Jusse Saros after scoring the fifth goal. Panthers momentum was not stopped after taking a 2-0 lead, and even though the Predators tied it at two, Florida scored two more before the end of the first. Multiple Panthers had three-point night's as AJ Greer led the way with two goals, now one goal away from a new career high, Carter Verhaeghe broke a 13-game goal drought,

BOB GIVETH, BOB TAKETH: Leaky Goal's put the Panthers behind and comeback fell short
24/11/2025 Duração: 34minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down the Panthers 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night from Amerant Bank Arena. The Panthers fell behind less than a minute into the game when Jack Roslovic threw the puck from the half wall and got squeezed by Sergei Bobrovsky, although the Cats tied it six minutes, later, the Oilers responded less than a minute later, and the Cats had to play catch up from there. Down 3-1 at the start of the second period, the Cats controlled play, but could not cut the deficit as Vasily Podkolzin threw a puck off Bobrovsky's should and in. Daniil Tarasov came into the game, and the Panthers had life shortly after, scoring twice in about a three and a half minute span, one on the power and another as the power play ended, but Edmonton was able to hang on after the Cats struggled to keep the puck in the offensive zone when they brought on the extra attacker, and Connor McDavid scoring on a breakaway on the e

FULL SIXTY: Panthers scored early & it was enough as they shut out the Devils in a defensive clinic
21/11/2025 Duração: 37minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) to break down the Panthers 1-0 win over the New Jersey Devils, in what was a defensive clinic, and one goal was enough after Sam Reinhart scored a highlight reel similar to game 6 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. Florida took advantage of the Devils not connecting on passing out of their own end, and it was crucial as there were not a lot of stoppages and had to rely on not getting caught in line changes. The Panthers did so successfully as they prevented the Devils from getting opportunities off breakaways, Sergei Bobrovsky was kept clean for the most part, but he saved his best for last toward the end to prevent this game from going to over time and getting a regulation win. Thursday night had the ceremony celebrating Jeff Petry's 1000th game as he got his silver stick and Jack Devine making his NHL Debut, how did he look in it? The guys give their three stars, when they knew the gam

REVEALED: Panthers Winter Classic sweaters have been made public! Luostarinen now out week-to-week
20/11/2025 Duração: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Florida Panthers Historian Francisco Oporta(@FLACatsHistory) to the show to discuss the Panthers and the NHL Revealing the 2026 NHL Winter Classic jerseys. The jersey is a dedication to the Panthers original logo from when they first entered the league in 1993, while also dedicating to hockey history in South Florida. The Tropical Hockey League has provided a major influence in the design of the sweater from the shoulder logo, to the pants. Is there a connection to their former roommates in the Miami Heat from the Miami Arena in the design, as well as what they possibly could've been named had they not been called the Florida Panthers? There is an injury update to Eetu Luostarinen as Paul Maurice revealed that Luostarinen is week-to-week as he suffered an injury involving an accident related to a bar-b-q off the ice. What does this mean now for the team as now it's another name added to the long list of injurie

CALLED UP: Panthers Top F Prospect Jack Devine, could make his NHL Debut Thursday!
19/11/2025 Duração: 38minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) for another edition of Winans Wednesday, as the two discuss the news of top Prospect Jack Devine getting called up to the NHL Squad. With the injury situation with Cole Schwindt being out long term and Eetu Luostarinen being day-to-day, Jack Devine gets his chance. Leading the Checkers in points in his very first full season in pro hockey, he is called up a lot earlier than expected, but leading the way in Charlotte in points after coming in at the end of last season, he's fast tracked himself to hit the ice. The Panthers have scored in bunches at times, especially in two of the last three games, and Seth Jones has been a catalyst as to why. We discuss his play as of late and does he actually have a chance to make the US Olympic Roster. Lastly, Sergei Bobrovsky comes clutch when it matters most, but he isn't necessarily bailing the team out and it shows when he faces shots of high danger.

ANOMALY: Cats and Canucks burst out offensively, Florida came out victorious & set franchise record
18/11/2025 Duração: 37minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Florida Panthers Historian Francisco Oporta(@FLACatsHistory) to break down the Panthers 8-5 win over the Vancouver Canucks. It was an offensive outburst from both teams, although the Panthers controlled play from the jump, it was the Canucks who got out to a 2-0 lead, but the Panthers kept pushing as they were able to tie it heading into the seconds, and it was a continuation of the Panthers dominance as they scored five unanswered. There was a stretch where the Cats didn't allow a shot in the first 11 minutes of the game, and even when the Canucks responded to get it to a two goal deficit in the second, the Panthers had a strangle hold where they went a 9 minute stretch without allowed a shot as the Panthers kept winning face-offs and boards battles in the Canucks zone. Panthers went into the third with a lead, but that didn't stop the Canucks from getting two quick ones, but Florida responded less than a minu

YIKES: Panthers came out flat against AHL Bolts and have a Brad Marchand over-reliance problem
17/11/2025 Duração: 33minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to recap the Panthers 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning at home, where the Panthers came out flat against a Bolts squad that had a laundry list of injuries coming into Saturday's match, but the Panthers were unable to creat any sustained offense as they only got one high danger chance at 5-on-5 on the evening. They have a major Brad Marchand over-reliance problem that's going to cost them games if it keeps up, and it showed with the missed opportunity this weekend. We also discuss how the Panthers were biting on the bait that the Bolts gave them, but maybe that has to do with where the Panthers are situationally in the standings. Florida will have no time to dwell as they welcome in the Vancouver Canucks to town, where it's been a PR nightmare over the last few years, but a grand opportunity as the Cats may be facing a goaltender in Jiri Patera, who has not even played 10 NHL games. Will Quinn Hughes stay in Van

MARCHAND MR. 1000: Panthers pull away late against best defensive team to begin long home stand!
14/11/2025 Duração: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Nich Fairbanks(@Prudentia0) to break down the Panthers' 6-3 victory over the Washington Capitals in game one of a five game homestand, and the Panthers played a game where although early on, the Caps controlled play, Florida had the better of the quality scoring chances, having the Washington defense spread out and making Logan Thompson's life difficult. Panthers did not allow Washington to gain any sort of momentum as they responded 28 seconds later after going down 1-0, also when Washington brought it to a one-goal deficit, the Cats extended their lead back to two just over four minutes later. Washington came in giving up the least amount of 5-on-5 goals, and for the first time all season, Logan Thompson gave up more than three goals in a game. The Panthers defense continued to create opportunities from the previous game as they were quick to get the pucks to the net, including Gustav Forsling's primary assis

12/11/2025 Duração: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to discuss the viral photo of Captain Aleksander Barkov spotted working out in holiday park without the knee brace just over a month after getting his knee operated for a torn ACL and MCL. Is he ahead of schedule. One of Barkov's long time line mates in Carter Verhaeghe is struggling, and although he did so last season as well, his shots on goal are down? What's the reasoning behind it? We also discuss the numbers before Verhaeghe's offensive regression. SURVIVAL: Late push by Vegas not enough as the Panthers finish the road trip strong
11/11/2025 Duração: 36minOn today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is here to break down the Panthers 3-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, where the Panthers were able to pounce in each frame and build a multi-goal lead heading into period number three, although Vegas controlled the game in the final 20 and got it to a one goal game, the Cats were right back at a two-goal lead scoring on the power play. Monday night was all about the defense, not only shutting it down late in the game, but getting point offensively as there a defenseman who got a point in each of the three goals. Donovan Sebrango got his first two career points, and got the primary assist on the first goal by Jesper Boqvist. Florida had eyes on the Golden Knights top players all night they had high quality looks, but the timely saves from Sergei Bobrovsky on Ivan Barbashev helped create a big swing when Brad Marchand scored to make it 2-0 in the second period. Vegas had over a minute of 5-on-3, and the Panthers found a
