It was a high event, high scoring period in the first with four goals combined, while the second provided zero. Panthers power play looked a lot better than they did on Saturday night, and got one on the board (Reinhart), and one just a second after one expired and it was the goal that had the Panthers back in the game, thanks to Brad Marchand. Florida was able to get one of their opportunities to convert, but not before the Bolts scored first short handed to tie the game at one. The change for the Panthers was switching up the wingers in the middle six (Carter Verhaeghe and AJ Greer) and Head Coach Paul Maurice went on a full rant during a TV timeout. The Panthers were on it from the beginning of the third period where once they got the first goal from Niko Mikkola after a save from Freddie Anderson on Eetu Luostarinen seconds before, the floodgates opened. Before we knew it, the Panthers went from down two goals to up two midway through the third period. It was five different goal scorers for the Panthers that were able to pile it on while registering 14 shots in the third period. On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) and Jacob Winans(@JakeW_8) broke down the Panthers' 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings, where the Panthers found themselves in a bit of a struggle keeping up with the Kings speed in their first game back from their long road trip. Luckily, only one goal against after one had the Panthers in striking distance, and they began to pounce in the second, with two goals in under five minutes, one on the power play with Anton Lundell parked around the net to deflect the puck past Anton Forsberg, and once again crashing the net with Carter Verhaeghe converting for his ninth goal in his last 11 games. Florida was able to get two goals quickly in less than four minutes after the Bolts put on some early pressure in the Cats zone. They owned three-fourths of the shot share in period number one, but no goals came out of it. Sam Reinhart (short handed) and Anton Lundell were able to capitalized on their chances off the rush to put it away early. Florida gave up 15 shots and kept Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson without. single shot on the even, but the key to the game was the ability to not allow quality chances on Dallas' 40% home power play, while getting multiple odd man short handed chances, including one that drew a penalty and then resulting in a power play goal before the end of the second period.
