Today we are joined with actor Herman Tommeras and director Emma Higgins to get a behind the scenes look into their new psychological thriller SWEETNESS. This film is absolutely crushing with the critics and gives us a bit of a modern vibe of Stephen Kings Misery story (with the roles of a pop rock star held captive by an obsessive fan). Layers of character depth with real life themes of mental health, toxic fandom, artist exhaustion, vices, and much more made this a great conversation around the film itself. We thoroughly enjoyed this flick and after this interview we gained even more layers of appreciation for it.

Today we are joined with film director / Canadian broadcast legend Sook-Yin Lee to reflect on her past Much Music adventures and her current movie "Paying For It" that hits select theatres this week. Along with some of the thematic narrative of this film it really opened us up to hear a lot about her journey of both film directing and becoming one of the most beloved music VJ's that hit all of our television screens across the nation.

Alongside that we learn about his head tattoo that was inspired by the 2015 Robert Eggers film "The Witch", how he immortalized his grandfather who passed at the end of their recent single Wither, and that one of our favorite moments of the album is actually a secret nod to the band Creed!?!

Today we are joined with Neil Osborn of the legendary 54-40 to chat about their brand new album Porto and reminisce on some of their past greatest hits. Was so cool to pick his brain and get even more layers on how this came to be and how this film is going against the grain of how the majority of movies are made in his country.

Today we are joined with Ricardo and Daniel of the Empanadas Ilegales who recently dropped "Sancocho Trifásico" which is one of the coolest sounding albums we have heard all year. This album was mastered by Grammy Awards winning engineer Adam Ayan who worked with superstars like Shakira, and legendary bands such as Rush which is a perfectly fitting diversity for their dark-mambo-psyche-rock-salsa sound. They explain that this project was created by staying true to their influences and how in a live performance atmosphere they have what they call "The Beetlejuice Effect" where their playing causes people to uncontrollably dance. They also explain their band name and give us a history lesson of a time where being a street vender was considered breaking the law and an old lady refused to stop selling her empanadas.
