Yet another great Lex Fridman interview, this time with Richard Wolff, a professor of economics specialized in Marxism, has inspired this episode. I share some of my thoughts and takeaways from learning about Marx and what he was actually about.

Lex Fridman finally interviews Don Hoffman and his Case Against Reality!! Today, I share my thoughts on that theory.

This episode is largely inspired/in response to yet another great Lex Fridman podcast where he talks with Robin Hanson, an economist who created the Grabby Aliens theory. I share some of the great insights I learned, as well as challenge some things I disagreed with, like the assumption that competition and colonization are good ways of viewing the world or the universe at large.

Updates on work, talks about the importance of community and the destruction of said communities in the 21st century, defining love, and more metaphors about free will .. plus some stuff about ecological technologies!

I finally attended a meeting for radical activism/community building!! Today, I share my experiences and thoughts around the #stopcopcity movement to defend the Atlanta forest. I attended a meeting where they were discussing the week of action lessons and such.

I start today's podcast with an update about my work situation, which flows into a reflection of my own self esteem issues and so on. I then segue into how the precarious situation we are all in thanks to capitalism makes people more prone to being on edge. Unfortunately, many folks (especially cis white men) find solace in extremist or otherwise problematic content and communities. I also touch on some thoughts I've had listening to some Lex Fridman podcasts. I mention how the Bad Vegan thing shows us the problem with thinking only about accountability instead of environmental awareness. Our decisions are influenced by hundreds or even thousands of variables, and ignoring those makes us feel more 'in control' but makes us even more able to be controlled. Finally, I talk about love, and how love is often misused when we really mean infatuation or attraction or manipulation and the like. I think love requires mutual respect and a desire to help each other grow.

I fucked up at work. For the first time ever, I record a podcast while driving! I needed to vent about the mistakes I've made on my work project, so I shared some thoughts and feelings I've been having all day about my fuck up. Hopefully I stay employed long enough to make up for them and do better...

Free will is a terribly limiting belief! In this long two part episode, I talk about how free will doesn't make sense in terms of physics, biology, psychology, etc. Then I posit a better way to think about sentience, decision making, agency, willpower, accountability, and so on.

I rant about Moon Knight for an hour!! I was enjoying the first 2 episodes, but this third episode really threw me off and got me concerned about the future of the MCU.

Today, I share my learnings from reading another section of Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit and draw connections with his breakdown of speculative thinking with the indigenous spiritualism that was able to communicate great wisdoms over many generations.

I ramble on about DC Animated movies, public misconceptions about the role of genetics, and the utter failure of the movie Moonfall at exploring what could have been a really interesting sci-fi idea.

This exciting opportunity has inspired me to refine an idea I've been talking about over the last few weeks and months. I call it the Solarpunk Software, a tool to immerse people in visions for a better future. In this episode, I share the idea, the problems I want to solve, and various use cases.
