What's up everyone? The podcast is back on this fine victory Monday, with Jake joining you all to break this one down. Right from the start, this game had a wild tempo to it, with both the Ravens and the Patriots trading jabs in the first half leading to a 14-13 score. From there, Baltimore's offense took things over after a stumbling a bit to start the second half, which set up the defense to have to close a game out. They did it indeed, with Marlon Humphrey picking off a pass in the endzone, Kyle Hamilton and Marcus Peters combining to force and recover a fumble, and then Peters closing things out with a pick of his own. At 2-1, the Ravens welcome the Bills to town... so let's just say getting to a winning record ahead of that game was a very good thing. What's up guys? The pod is back with yet another preview show, this time in the form of an extended interview. For Ravens @ Pats, Jake has the pleasure of being joined by DJ Bean (@DJ_Bean) of NBC Sports Boston, and the Brunch Podcast. DJ (in addition to being the hilarious host of Brunch, which Jake was most familiar with him for) is an all-purpose Boston Sports media personality who's been on the beat for a decent amount of time now. In his run, he's seen the Patriots at their absolute best, and is of course now following them through what feels like a transitional phase. He gets into all of that (including some of his disagreements with their current process) with Jake, including some nitty gritty X's and O's talk on this upcoming matchup with the Ravens, as well as everything from sports media, to Better Call Saul, to just about anything you can imagine in between. It was a wild day in Baltimore, all culminating in a fourth quarter to forget for the Ravens. After a first half that saw Lamar Jackson at his usual crisp and competent self, and a third quarter that ended with a 79 yard touchdown run by the QB, you'd have thought it would be curtains for a game that Baltimore led by three touchdowns. But, it wasn't to be, as the Ravens defense spent much of the fourth quarter allowing Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle run behind them for touchdowns, and then subsequently pointing at one another to find out who's responsibility they were. Here to help you sort through the pain of this 42-38 loss are Jake, Cole, and Spenny, who might have some trouble finding the right words for this one. They'll try though, which is what matters. Just ask the Ravens secondary, who didn't look like they were at times today.
