Welcome back to The Brutally Honest Network for another installment of Brutally Honest Reviews. This week we immerse ourselves in racist suburban 1970's America where our lead John David Washington is pitted head to head against the KKK as the first African American Police Officer in Colorado Springs. Topher Grace plays a hauntingly polarizing David Duke, leading an otherwise incredibly stupid KKK. Adam Driver also stars in this fantastic, thought provoking, boundary pushing masterpiece by Spike Lee. In it's own right this is a powerful film. I encourage you all to check this out with an open mind and please remember who Spike Lee is. This movie isn't trying to bank on anything, but educate and provoke thought instead of action. We had a great time on this one. Remember, always keep it Brutally Honest, even if it means standing up for equality. Not to wax political or sociological, but don't be a piece of shit. This action packed tongue in cheek at times aquatic thriller is equal parts fun and solid filmmaking. All the characters were well developed and for once the very over the top Jason Statham was actually given quite a strong character. There is a lot to love in this film. We don't really know what to call this aside from being in the same vein as Johnny English & The Pink Panther. The film stars Mila Kunis & Kate McKinnon as a clubbing pair of pedestrian turned spies when some intel turns their world upside down. It's fun-sort of. The sixth film in the franchise stars Tom Cruise again as the lead protagonist Ethan Hunt.
