Paul's letter comes to a close in Ephesians 6:10–20 as we discover what it truly means to “put on the full armour of God.” Paul’s calls believers to stand firm in spiritual strength, not human effort — to live as a Spirit-empowered community reflecting Christ’s character in a world filled with unseen influences from the powers of evil. Each piece of the armour — truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word — represents the character of Christ that we’re invited to “put on.”This is not a solo fight — it’s a call to unity in the Body of Christ, empowered by prayer and sustained by love. This week we continue our journey through the book of Ephesians. In Chapter 4 Paul shifts gears from the understanding of who we are in Christ to what we do now as new creations in Christ. Paul's attention is focused on unity within the community of believers as an expression of the love of God.  How will such a diverse group of people hold onto unity and continue to love one another in the likeness of Christ? This week, Pastor Becky returned from the All Nations Gathering in California. What does the Bible have to say about living in community? Well, turns out, quite a lot! In Chapter 3 of Paul's letter to the Ephesians we summaries the mystery which is now an open - secret being revealed. Paul’s teaching reminds us that the Gospel is both mystery revealed and power experienced. It unites unlikely people, demonstrates God’s wisdom, and empowers us to live differently. Today we continue our journey through Paul's letter to the Ephesians. In Chapter 2 Paul shares two different perspectives on the inclusions of the Gentiles as children of God. Paul first addresses the cosmic perspective how the Gentiles like all other humans had been separated from God due to sin but how through Messiah Jesus they are now called childred of God. The second perspective relates to the covenant. Gentiles were far away, outsiders to the family of God but again, through Christ not only are Gentiles included in God's family but a whole new family is created in Messiah. In a world that often rewards self-promotion, independence, and pride, God calls us to something radically different: humility. Pride separates and divides us but humility allows for differences, cares for the needs of not just ourselves, but he needs of others. True humility isn’t about appearing lowly to others, but being submitted to God. Let us pray the prayer of the Apostle which is for you.In the book of Ephesians the Apostle Paul, while sitting in prison writes a letter to the believers in Ephesus. He is grateful to hear about their faith and he experiences their generosity and care for him while in prison. Paul prays a great prayer for them that we too can pray for ourselves and for others. In week 3 of our Let Us Pray series we ask the question: Why does God answer prayer? Is the answer our ability to pray well? Or perhaps our goodness and character? The basis for answered prayer is the goodness of God not humans. In todays message we learn about the attributes of God through the names that God is known by and we do so using a famous and poetic psalm. Psalm 23 helps us to see eight attributes of God that we can pray through which focuses our prayer on the goodness of God toward each of us.
